 - Description- My name is Juan Diego and my wife’s Laura, founders of a local goat farm in the biggest Lake of Chapala in Mexico, she’s a Vet and she’s in charge of all the goats, dogs and cats at the farm; I’m responsible of transforming our goat’s milk into cheese and different yogurts! We have 4 people staff, 2 men helping us with all the farm/heavy duty’s and 2 lady’s helping us with all the dairy process. We have around 35 goats, 3 dogs and 3 cats. Looking to have one day as well chickens and different vegetables to be as much independent, sustainable and healthy as posible.

 - UN sustainability goals this host is trying to achieve
 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- As a productive goat farm, we raise goats and we transform their milk into cheese and yogurts. You can be involved in all the process and task with the goats, from trimming, feeding, milking, making fertilizer from their manure or/and getting in to the creamery to learn how to make cheese and yogurts from their milk, pasteurizing, fermenting, curdling, bottling, labeling process and even taking everything to the stores and markets. With the project of building the igloos, you will be learning about the technique, materials, and design.
 - Projects involving children- This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
 - Help- We have 2 foundations ready to work with súperadobe and build 2 beautiful igloos so ourselves, family, friends and costumers can spend a weekend at the farm. So far we don’t have any place to spend a night at the farm, except camping, with the igloos, we will have enough space to have living room, restroom and bedroom in each igloo. Superadobe is an ecological friendly technique to build igloos filling bags with sand, and then placing them in a circular form to avoid using iron, rebars, lots of cement and instead using more labor from people.
 - Languages- Languages spoken
 English: Fluent
 Spanish: Fluent
French: Fluent- This host offers a language exchange
Since little i studied in a french school but living in Guadalajara, Mexico. Had different internships into France so I’ve been surrounded by the french culture for many years and that’s the origin for my love for cheese and wine. Born in Mexico, Spanish is my first language, French my second and english my third. I love to meet people from other places so we can learn, teach and share all kinds of new experiences!
 - Accommodation- The farm has 3 acres of land, we have lots of space for camping and we do have water from a well, we have several sinks, toilets and 1 shower. All the farm has electricity and on top of the creamery there’s a beautiful terrace with restrooms and stunnings views from Lake Chapala. We can supply as much goat cheese and goat yogurt you like, but also granola, fruit, vegetables, water, eggs, rice, beans, pasta, and we will ask you to cook your own meals and wash your dishes as to keep clean the farm. Goats hang everywhere and it’s very important to have the cleanest farm possible. For sleeping we will provide tents to camp and/or we can host you at our place close to the village Ajijic.
 - What else ...- The farm is located in an indigenous community in the lake shore with a small island just in front that you can visit with archeological ruins but also sacred places for the indigenous. The village is small and few people speaks English, so it’s an opportunity to practice Spanish, the road is very good to bike from the farm to the village and get all kinds of grocery’s. If you look for more activities, only 30 min drive, you will get to mayor villages with malls, delicious restaurants and one of the most cosmopolitan areas in all Mexico. In this bigger villages is where my wife and i live, so we could host you as well at our place so you can enjoy the lakeside area.
