We stayed week with Angela, and it was a truly lovely and peaceful experience for us. Angela is a very kind and beautiful soul. She is generous, warm, and very easygoing. Our main tasks included walking the lovely dog Luca, preparing dinner, and doing some simple, light cleaning around the house. There was nothing we had to do that we wouldn’t normally do in our own home. Shreyas also helped Angela by picking up groceries and driving her when needed. Angela has two lovely cats, Pema and Leo, and Luca, the darling dog. She is such a sweet dog, and we really enjoyed walking her. She loves the lake, enjoys lots of cuddles, and has such beautiful, positive energy. We had our own dog, Bolt, with us, and he also enjoyed the company of Angela and Luca. Angela provided us with a cozy, spacious room and a private bathroom in her home, which made our stay even more comfortable. We had many interesting conversations about Buddhism, philosophy, and many other topics. We also had the opportunity to visit a beautiful Tibetan temple, which was a very special experience. It was such a wonderful stay, and we already miss Angela and Luca. We would highly recommend a Workaway experience at her place to anyone ❤️

Wonderful stay. Beautifully furnished apartment with everything you need. Michele is a kind, open, and funny person. His mother lives only 10 minutes away; she went to the market with us and taught us various Italian dishes. Working on the property was a lot of fun. Among other things, I learned how to prune olive trees. Highly recommended :)

I came for 2 weeks, I stayed for 2 months. I fell in love with the dogs from the very first second, being greeted by the ever grinning 'Happy' and the raucous Castro. And with each wonderful animal I met I wanted to stay even longer. I arrived with my friend with the aim of helping with maintenance on the property, with such a large place there was always plenty of different jobs to be done, I felt as though I was given freedom to work while still being guided as and when necessary. The usual tasks of cleaning, walking, feeding etc were not my main roles but I often found myself on the walks as they are such fun! The hosts were an amazing in helping me and my friend rescue a street dog and get her adopted, even with the many stresses that came with the process it would not have been possible without them. They are real people who have saved so many wonderful animals that nobody else cared for, thank you for my time with you, I hope to return one day soon! Best wishes, Barney and Andy.

Dear Anne &John Thank you so much for letting us stay 3 weeks in your fantastic spot in Sri Lanka - there is nothing like that in the whole world: the beauty, the wilderness, the animals, the ponds etc - and at the end of the world. To go to your place, we were lucky to find a tuk tuk that would take us all the way - and happy we’re to have been there with you The two of you are special - you are “grown ups” and still very busy more than full time. We had the most wonderful menus, 3 times a day - local grown food, so good and thank you so much for that. We tried to help you as much as possible and hope we did what you expected God luck in future and all the best wishes Kurt & Dora

Ray-san has a lovely house which is very quaint, close to the supermarket (only 50 steps away!), and perfectly situated in the Kobe countryside. Every day, we did the work for 3 hours and then we had free time to explore the surrounding areas. We especially enjoyed the cultural experiences that you can definitely enjoy if you decide to stay longer at Ray-san's place. I never thought I'd be outclassed in stamina by 8-year old judo students! Haruko-san & Sensei are also worth getting to know; their top-rated wood oven pizza is a must try when in Sasayama. Also, you get the chance to meet Midori-san and try tea ceremony. Most of all, waking up to Phoebe getting excited to see you is the best way to start the day. She is the cutest toy poodle ever and taking care of her made us want to get one too when we go back home! Thank you Ray-san for the hospitality. - Karl & Mykee P.S. Sorry for the late feedback!

Well, it has been an amazing week. I'm gladly surprised by Erika and Milene, they are just amazing people and they remind me why I love Workaway and meeting new travelers. Erika and Milene are amazing, they went far and beyond with me and my family. To begin with they are open to help you with everything you need, we worked around the house in the garden and with the dogs and they were always full of energy, smiling and willing to learn and also share their experience. We cooked some traditional food together, went for some walks around the farm, Erika took some amazing pictures and we shared many different moments together. The best part was how we enjoyed each other company, my family loved how they became part of the family so quickly and how we created amazing memories. Our chats during the sunset drinking some wine were so interesting, I enjoyed so much. Erika and Milene thank you for your time, your help and specially your passion about life and for sharing all of that with us, you can come back anytime. Take care and safe travels. ❤️ 🎶

Luca & Elle Than you so much for 3 weeks at your place. You have the most beautiful spot and beach all most on your own. We loved the daily swim and the beautiful sunsets. We specially appreciated that you let us stay in the bungalow. It was our first time in Thailand and Elle’s food was so good and a wonderful introduction to Thai food and the markets when we went shopping. We do hope that our help will get your boat in the water very soon soon. All the best Kurt & Dora

We are so grateful to have experienced the essence of rural Japanese life through Naomi-san's workaway. The Shizuoka country-side is beautiful, with mountains and rivers surrounding. Naomi-san is very gracious, patient, and strong! We would partake in a very Japanese-style breakfast every morning, prepared by her. When we did farm work, she would try her best to demonstrate to us, as we had very little experience. At night, we always looked forward to walking her dogs, Kinako and Anko. Before dinner, we had most fun interacting with the kids: watching Sousou's amazing sketches and listening to Muku's knowledge of reptiles! Touru-san's experience of the wild animals and the role human's play in their population was very enlightening. Thank you for your hospitality Naomi-san and we hope to see you in the future! - Karl & Mykee

From the moment I walked through their door, I felt at home in this hidden oasis in Guanajuato. Kiko and Karen are amazing hosts and have great energy to be around. As they put it, they have received lots of good karma to put back into the world and you can really feel this as soon as you’re welcomed into their home. While the tasks were a bit all over the place, they were all fun in their own way. They have many projects and there is always something new going on. Being adaptable and willing to do a variety of tasks will enhance your experience here. The accommodation itself is homey and comfortable with everything you need, especially constant kitty love. Guanajuato itself is incredible and you can spend days and days exploring new streets. I stayed longer than I expected and it was hard to leave. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next. Thank you for everything Kiko and Karen🙏🏼

Josa stayed with us for 2 months, and was a great help maintaining our grounds. She is happy to get on with tasks independently and uses her initiative well. She was happy to work outdoors in Scotland throughout all weathers in November and December, and was always punctual and hard-working. She was considerate of the shared living space and was a very tidy guest.

I had such an amazing time at Batu Ridi!! Romi and his family/friends are such kindhearted people! They make you feel welcome from the start and really take care of you. Workwise you can talk to Romi before about what has to be done and what's needed, he always has a lot of projects in mind, it's best if you know your strengths and support him with your knowledge or muscles ;) I really recommend this place, it's a great way to experience life away from the city and learn about living in the jungle. You'll experience the local life, going to the market, fishing, swimming in the river and loads of playing cards. You don't have to worry about feeling lonely, since everyone is always open and happy to chat! But of course they'll give you space, if you need. Again highly recommend!!

Zac is a hard working conscientious guy capable of leading a team or just being a team player. He will try anything you throw at him. He likes to please and is very eager to learn new skills. He has aspirations in life and drive a rare quality in someone these days! While with me he turned his hand to many different tasks from Gardening to machinery operation and repair. He arrived in late October stayed a month leaving us late November 2025. He returned late December and has just left. He will be welcomed back anytime. Safe travels buddy.

Honestly, this didn’t feel like a stay , it felt like home. From the very first day I was treated as part of the family, not a guest or a helper. So much warmth, trust, humor, and good energy in this house. They are open-minded, kind, fun, and incredibly easy to live with. We shared laughs, daily life, food, conversations, and many small moments that really stay in your heart. The kids, the pets, the vibe , everything felt natural and real. I’m truly grateful for this experience. These people became family to me, and I’m sure this connection will stay long after the stay ends. I can only recommend them from the bottom of my heart ❤️

We spent three weeks in Paolo's little house, and it was a wonderful experience! Paolo is a very nice person, who wants you to discover Italy and share all its culture, especially its delicious foccacias! The place is small but you have everything you need to live and a magnificent view of the sea. Thanks to buses and trains, you can visit the beautiful region (Portofino, Chiavari, Cinque Terre...).

Makayla stayed with me from February 1st to February 9th, 2026, to help me with my English. She is a wonderful person—always punctual, polite, and very respectful. I was truly impressed by her teaching techniques; she made learning very engaging and easy to understand. Beyond the lessons, she took great care of my home and kept everything in excellent condition. Thank you so much, Makayla, for your help and for being such a great guest. I highly recommend her to any host looking for a dedicated and reliable volunteer!

Juliane stayed with us for one month and was a perfect guest and a diligent helper. She speaks excellant English and learnt how to fit in with our projects seamlessly. Juliane was a great housemate, clean and tidy and very helpful around the house. She was great with the rescue horses which can be difficult at times and wonderful with the dogs. We were sorry to see her go. We can highly recommend Juliane and we hope that she will return to us someday.
