Sophie is someone who is truly up to any task she takes on. She sets clear goals for herself, creates her own deadlines, and works with full dedication to meet them. Her approach to work is sincere and dependable, and she carries a strong sense of responsibility in everything she does. She is incredibly kind, soft-spoken, and honest — a calm and grounding presence to have around. At the same time, she has an outgoing nature and a genuine explorer’s spirit that is both inspiring and fascinating. Her curiosity about the world and the people she meets is heartfelt and authentic. Hosting Sophie was an absolute pleasure. She blended in effortlessly, contributed wholeheartedly, and brought warmth and positivity with her. We would definitely recommend hosting her and wish her all the very best in her future explorations and travels around the world.

Our time here was fantastic. Mick is awesome! We were there with the main aim to build a Hugel bed with a bigger team (6 volunteers in total). Mick knows the way of hosting volunteers - he knew to keep our tasks varied and fed us super well. He did a few massive grocery shops during our time there with loads of organic food (even some gluten-free stuff for me, Emma!) The location of the property is just out-of-this-world. The views from the house and fields were a constant entertainer for us. Mick lives an exciting and eclectic lifestyle with so many brilliant ideas and projects going on at all times. The farm and house have many items scattered around and it can feel a bit cluttered at times. Mick was out travelling for most of the month we were there but our times together were really fun - He even took us out to a restuarant a few times, which was such a spoil! Thank you Mick for making our last month in Slovenia so enjoyable - you're doing such amazing work and we wish you all the best.

Jeanna is a wonderful person who has clearly left a mark. It has been a couple weeks since she left but sometimes the students still ask about her. She is also social and likes spending time with the other volunteers and hosts. I wish the best for your next travels Jeanna and keep counting adventures!

Cezar stayed with us for a while. He was working digitally but he still dedicated himself to the tasks he was assigned and had free time hanging out also. I recommend Cezar to any host looking for a dedicated team member who has a wonderful life story to share! Thank you for everything Cezar!

Elena & Ayushma were truly wonderful volunteers! They brought creativity, energy, and positivity to every task, helping with social media, photos, videos, and improving the resort’s online presence. They also shared their love for learning and teaching, spending time with the family and exploring Lao culture. Always kind, respectful, and curious, they became like part of the family. We would happily welcome them back anytime!

We stayed at Pure’s farm for 2 weeks back in November and we are still discussing fond and funny memories of the place most days. There were lots of volunteers at the time we were there, at the highest around 16 and at the lowest 9, this was rlly nice and there is such a collaborative and family vibe to the farm. Pure is super nice and gets to know each volunteer personally as he works along side us and taught us so much. During our stay volunteers shared their skills with others in forms of informal workshops and Pure’s friend lives nearby who offers creative workshops. Accommodation and facilities are basic which added to the fun and experience. But they are always being improved and altered so who knows what it will look like as time goes on. The work was varied depending on what needs to be done each day and well organised by morning meetings. Thank you Pure and the other volunteers for making our stay so lovely and impactful. We hope we will see many of you again somehow somewhere. Big love Anna and Peggy.

Don’t really know where to start.. I think it was pure luck that I found you and you needed a “last minute” volunteer, and I already fell in love with your family in the first video call. You made me feel like another son in your family right away, and every single moment with Miku, Sera and Sora was so so fun. Cutest girls on earth. Miku and I used to make pancakes together, play a lot in the park when it wasn’t too cold, draw and make origami together… I was planning to stay only for two weeks but I fell in love with this family so I made the arrangements to extend my stay for more than a month.. I wish I could stay even more and I’m sure I’m gonna come back again. Megumi is the best mother and the best host that you can imagine. Every family dinner, every weekend together with the family, is a memory that I’ll keep with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for this wonderful time❤️

I spent two glorious months at the finca and wish I could have stayed longer. If you love animals, nature, and good company, you will find this to be one of the most magical places on earth! I instantly fell in love with the young horses, Nala the husky, the puppies, and the cute and friendly cats. Anne and Gilberto are the most welcoming people you can find, and immediately make you feel like family. As a bonus, they're completely knowledgeable about first aid, helping me when I had traveler's GI upset stomach and then when I injured my foot. The site is gorgeous, and people travel an hour or more to see the sun set behind the volcano. I have so many lovely photographs for memories. Their café is open 5 days a week now and you can always get something really great there for supper. The better your Spanish is, the more you will derive from the experiences, culturally. Many people in El Salvador speak only Spanish. So if your Spanish is limited (like mine was) it's hard to get to know the cowboys, some of the staff, and cafe customers as well as you'd like. But when you can use Google translate, it's fine. I had an amazing time, learned a lot about horse therapy, learned a lot working with the adorable colts and yearling Luna, and learned some good cooking recipes. I miss everyone immensely. I think everyone must feel leaving is a too sad time, but the positives make the experience so worth it, I highly recommend the experience.

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Matilda. Although her stay was short, she left a lasting impression on our family and the entire school community. Highlights of her stay: Generosity: She was incredibly thoughtful, bringing sweets for my family and much-needed school supplies for my students. Professional Skill: Matilda is an exceptionally talented photographer. We collaborated on a photography and English workshop together, where she proved to be a skilled and patient trainer. Adaptability: She is highly responsible and social. She integrated perfectly into our family life, shared openly with us, and never had a single complaint about the facilities. Communication: Her communication was excellent from start to finish, making the hosting process seamless. Matilda is a warm, amiable, and reliable person. She is welcome back to her "Sri Lankan family" anytime! We highly recommend her to any future host.

***ESPAÑOL ABAJO*** ________________________________ This was my first workaway and I can't imagine a better start. I had such an amazing experience and felt such a positive energy that it's hard to describe. I was supposed to stay for three weeks but ended up staying for almost seven months. And I'm glad that I did. This is such a magical place where you feel welcomed and accepted since day 1. People take care of each other in a very special way. I found a familiy. I found my tribe. During my time there, I learned so much of agroecology, bioconstruction and carpentry. I tended the garden, weeded, transplanted, mantained the raised beds, and helped build plants supports. I made compost, looked after the chickens and the hens, and helped build new perches for them. I helped a lot with the construction of the tiny house: I helped plaster some walls, prepare the mortar mix, and laid the floor. I assisted in installing the door and the mezzanine, and helped make the compost toilet seat and the staircase. I also learned about bamboo and helped make a piece of furniture for the tiny house, and a bike rack for the festival. Work never felt like work here. I couldn't get enough of it. Everyone is so patient and willing to teach you, and they always do it with the best possible attitude. Some weekends when everyone left, I was trusted with being the guardian of the place and take care of the animals, because besides the hens and the chickens, there are two very cuddly cats (Benito and Ix) and five adorable dogs (Lune, Terra, Sol, Canelo, and Mar A.K.A "Mapacha"). I felt honoured to be trusted with this task. In my free time, I hung out with other volunteers and the crew, and went for tacos and delicious ice cream to Chipilo, visited Cholula, Atlixco, Puebla, and Cuetzalan. I played a lot of board games, cards, pétanque, some volleyball and even baseball. I watched a lot of movies, and enjoyed pizza nights and beers while having deep and long conversations. I enjoyed my time with the team and I am forever grateful for the teachings, the laughter, the fun, the communication, the trust, the connections, and the love... Thank you Pedro for teaching me so many strategies in agroecology and how to do compost, for the conversations, the dances, and for always taking care of everyone. Thank you Don Jorge for the patience and the willingness to pass on all your experience in bioconstruction, thank you for your stories - it was always a pleasure to listen to them. Thank you Cris for the amazing food, the hugs, and the beautiful energy you always carry with you. Thank you Feli for your pizzas, for all your bioconstruction teachings and your patience with me with my failed baseball attempts - you are an amazing teacher and a very good friend. Thank you Abz for being such a good listener, always helping mantain the balance, for the trust when you also needed to be heard, and the honesty to speak out the difficuly truths. Your warmth and sensitivity always made my day better. Thank you Pau for teaching me so much about the hens and the chickens, the trust for letting me be in charge of them when you needed a break, for the hikings, the crochet lessons, the contagious laughter, and the beautiful friendship we cultivated. Thank you Nancy for the laughter, the card games, the advices, the deep conversations, the wisdom (you are such a wise person for your age), the complicity, the friendship, and the long, heartfelt hugs. Your energy is an inspiration and a mood-improver. Thank you Julio for teaching me so much, and developing in me a passion for carpentry. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the endless games, the conversations and the friendship. Working in the workshop with you always filled me up with so much joy. Thank you Steve and Felino, my fellow volunteers/team members. It's been a pleasure growing with you and becoming part of this team together. There is so much I can learn from you and I can't wait to keep walking this path together. And thank you Xavi for the trust, the Catan games, the conversations, the hugs, and the friendship. Thank you for creating such an inspiring project where there is so much respect, and so much love - a place that so many of us can call "home".

It was such a pleasure to host Charles at our place - he's very easygoing, fit in really well with the household, pets and humans :) He made some great improvements in our garden, leaving it in a much better state than at the start of the week. He's also got an awesome attitude in general, really interested in learning about things in New Zealand, the environment, all the hikes around and he is really making the most of his time in NZ. I would highly recommend Charles as someone who's happy to get stuck in and help out and really great to have around.

We stayed with Adeline for 1.5 weeks and had a wonderful experience. The work was very enjoyable, and Adeline was incredibly welcoming, involving us in community activities such as a lovely hike with her friends, a trip to the local cinema, and showing us around Russell and Kerikeri. The food was absolutely delicious, healthy, fresh, and all homemade. Highly recommended 🌱🌺🌼🪴

Vanessa and Lukas were wonderful guests! They worked super hard at all the crazy home-renovation tasks I gave to them over the six weeks they stayed with my family, were meticulous and precise, very helpful and just generally nice to have around. Our kids loved them, and we really enjoyed getting to know them. We'd happily welcome them back in the future and highly recommend them as Workaway guests.

McKenna's inherent energy was palpable as soon as I collected her from the bus and was confirmed during her week's stay. She was highly motivated to get involved and always put in the best effort that she could. She showed initiative with the tasks that she helped with and around the house, capped off by her giving her room and adjacent hallway a good sweeping just as she was about to leave (I don't think she was aware that i noticed that welcome parting gesture). Her roles in harvesting green material and loading mulch for a compost production burst, breaking down fallen small kanuka after a recent storm and other tasks, were completed conscientiously and with enthusiasm. McKenna's hiking background and general fitness were a help to her on this somewhat lumpy bit of land with its physical jobs to stay on top of. An interest in birdlife and enquiring mind for the ecological and food production aspects of my project made her an engaged guest. With her friendly manner and easy way with others she was a perfect fit with other Workawayers staying alongside. In summary, a worthwhile exchange for me that I would gladly repeat Many thanks McKenna!

I am blessed to be Sinji’s first workaway hosts’ reviewer and am more than happy to vouch for her. She is very trustworthy and calm, although she is known to be an extrovert with low stamina. Sinji’s on her path to improve her English and widen her horizon through traveling and volunteering, with a strong focus of what she wants. I wish you all the best in your journey ahead and may you meet nice people along the way to create awesome memories!
