Description
Hi, I’m Aditya! I’ve been hosting on Workaway for a while now. I started with a listing in Kunr, a remote village in Chamba, where we worked on farm projects like a kiwi orchard and an asafoetida crop, here I also manage a homestay, but it doesn’t get as many guests, mostly digital nomads for long stays. So now, I’m focusing more on the homestay in Palampur, which welcomes a lot more guests.
I still visit Chamba and Kunr from time to time, but right now, I’m inviting volunteering applications for the homestay in Palampur. It’s a fantastic place to stay , right in the middle, so you can easily explore Palampur town and also visit Dharamshala, Bir, and more.
I just need a bit of help around the house , welcoming guests, managing daily tasks, and creating a great experience. We’ve had volunteers who’ve contributed so many different skills , photography , painting murals, performing music, sharing food, and even teaching yoga. If you love travel, are enthusiastic, and ready to lend a hand, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make some great memories together in Palampur! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
By volunteering with us in Palampur, travelers get a rich cultural exchange at the heart of Kangra Valley. Palampur sits between Dharamshala and Bir, offering insights into both the indigenous Kangra culture and the Tibetan refugee community. Here, you can immerse yourself in traditional Kangra art, savor famous local cuisine, and visit pottery schools to learn age-old craft techniques. Plus, being close to Dharamshala, the home of the Dalai Lama, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Tibetan life in exile. If you’re curious and open to new experiences, you’ll find this region full of learning, from history and spirituality to art and daily mountain life.

Help
We’d love to connect with volunteers who enjoy any of the following:
• Wall art, graffiti art, or other forms of creative expression
• Social media marketing, photography, videography, or drone cinematography
• Assisting in day-to-day activities at the homestay or in the farm/kitchen garden
• Helping with community development initiatives — if you have prior experience in this area, we’d be happy to explore it together. We are open to learning and growing as a community.
• Collaborating with us on small, mindful yoga retreats. We have recently begun working with yoga teachers to create slow, meaningful stays.
If you can fit into any of these roles, you’ll feel right at home here. We value people who are proactive, flexible, and genuinely enjoy creating meaningful experiences.
One of our plans for 2026 includes replacing an old wall art that has faded (as seen in one of the pictures from Kunr village). We hope to create something new that resonates with the local community and inspires young minds , reflecting creativity, culture, and shared values.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! -
