I spent a wonderful month here from December to January, and it was truly an incredible experience. A huge thank you to Barbara, Georg, Sebastian, Claudia, and the girls, Gwen and Ailbhe. This was my first time experiencing a Western Christmas and seeing snow for the first time in my life—these are memories I will cherish forever! Barbara is such a gentle and wise person. She taught me so much about permaculture, and I truly cherished our afternoon tea times together.Georg definitely has a chef's DNA! I loved every single meal here. By the time I left, my pants were feeling a bit tight—a clear sign that I was fed very well and was incredibly happy.I was also glad that Sebastian was home during the Christmas holidays. We went wood gathering together, and I was so impressed by his tree-climbing skills. I really look forward to you visiting Taiwan again in the future! I enjoyed every single day here. Saying goodbye was bittersweet, and though there were tears, they were happy ones. I will definitely visit you all again next time I’m in Ireland!

It was my first experience volunteering, and I couldn’t have a better one. We worked hard with pleasure, supported by a wonderful staff team for an important and meaningful cause. The organization was almost perfect (cause it can never be perfect anyway). We were took in charge and helped anytime we needed. I recommand.

Her two dogs are adorable and affectionate. This exchange will pleasantly surprise you. Furthermore, you'll discover a beautiful and peaceful setting. A fabulous landscape and friendly neighbors. Don't hesitate, Carmel will be delighted to meet you, and you'll be too!

Originally, I came to Langkawi for two weeks to learn bamboo construction techniques and help build this magnificent bridge. I enjoyed the work, the local team, the farm accommodation, and the island so much that I decided to extend my stay by another two weeks. Ahmad is passionate about bamboo and shared his knowledge with us during a workshop. He is very responsive to messages and answers any question promptly. He even allowed me to buy his hammock when I needed one urgently. It was wonderful to be here during Ramadan. Coming from a predominantly Christian country, I learned a great deal about Islam. Ahmad and Rose even invited us to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their family, which was incredibly warm and welcoming. During that month, I rented a scooter from someone Ahmad recommended, and it was a pleasure to explore the island with it.

I had a great time with Irene and Bud. They have a wonderful farm with a lot of work near McBride. I loved my own log cabin near the bisons and all the animals on the farm. There's a kitchen in the barn where I could prepare my own meals. Bud and I went shopping together and got everything I needed. There's also plenty of food in the freezer. That was great for me, as I really like being independent. Irene and Bud are very nice and I miss their warm and open nature. I was able to learn a lot about their way of life. For example they took me along to their church community and to meet their friends. They was very fair regarding working hours and my leisure time. I usually started around 7:30 / 8.00 in the morning, taking care of the chickens, ducks and geese, and letting the horses out. Then I did a lot of work in the garden and the greenhouse or helped Irene around the house. We also had a stall at the farmers' market on Fridays. Once Irene realized I could work independently and see what needed to be done, she relaxed a lot. She's often very busy and would ideally like to do everything at once. That can be a bit annoying sometimes, but once you understand how she operates, it's not a problem. She's a really kind woman and I like her a lot. In the afternoons, I was able to ride the horses with Irene and others. Once we even took our horses to a neighboring farm to help herd the cows to a different pasture. Bud is the quieter of the two. You can always have great conversations with him, he has great tips for excursions and often worked in the barn where they are converting the roof into an apartment. This place is perfect for anyone who enjoys quiet, animals, physical work and nature. You should be independent, cope alone and able to work for yourself. I recommend coming with a car to take trips and explore the area. Finally, I also met Roberta, Irene and Bud's daughter. She is also a lovely and warm-hearted young woman. Big hug to Vida, Harla, Zora and Jet,...the two dogs and all the cats are so cute. I really had a great time there and hope I can come back soon! Thank you Irene and Bud for 4 great weeks!

I had a wonderful experience here with Siri for one week. She is incredibly kind and friendly. Since this was my first Workaway, I felt quite shy and quiet on the first day, but Siri really took good care of me. After that, I met some great friends here. Siri drove us to waterfalls, historical parks, and temples. We also visited a nearby night market together. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work here with such lovely and adorable children, and to experience the local life in this peaceful and beautiful city in Thailand. Thank you, Siri. I truly hope we can meet again in the future.

Jordan was with us for 2 weeks only, but brought great energy to the program. He worked hard and immediately became a big part of this group. We'd love to welcome him again on future programs :)

Our experience with Hannah wasn't the best, to be honest. We believe she wasn't emotionally prepared to be in a remote location where the rules and conditions can constantly change, given that we're not in the city and many variables like weather and access can influence the functioning and work of a project like this. One of the reasons we conduct a lengthy interview process is precisely so that people can understand the importance of adapting and being flexible with the activities we have, because we can't plan everything the way we could in a hotel or in the city. So, while Hannah is a good, friendly person with a positive attitude, we believe she wasn't prepared for a situation like the one she was in. We should point out that a group of volunteers who worked the same amount of time that had already been spent before, during, and after the same experience, and there were no problems with them, they continued in the same activity and took this experience and this flexibility as a learning opportunity. Finally, we would like to point out that we have always been welcoming, empathetic, and understanding of the situations our volunteers may face, adapting and trying to provide the necessary support. However, we always expect a reciprocal attitude from them; that is, that they also be flexible and understand that the variables in remote and mountainous locations like this are not something that can be controlled in advance and require a positive attitude from everyone.

Adam has been a wonderful, deep-thinking volunteer to have on program. They always provided great conversational topics both on and off the work site, and would complete any task assigned to them. We'd love to have Adam back on the program in the future :)

It was nice staying with Doriana🙂 Pleasant person : super auto-ironic, playful, and genuinely fun to be around. I found her energy really entertaining, but also meaningful, because we had a lot of real conversations. Her art is beautiful : amazing paintings, and the whole house is full of creative objects and collections 🎨 you get the feeling of living inside an artistic world. The place itself is great too: a big property surrounded by nature, and just a short walk from the seaside 🌊 which made everything feel calm and inspiring. She was also very kind and available in everyday life — sometimes driving me to the city or picking me up, introducing me to people in the village, and just being very open socially. We often went for walks by the sea and talked about all kinds of things.😄😊 The food was another highlight — very healthy, tasty, and always adapted to me. She would ask what and how much I wanted to eat each time, which I really appreciated 🍲 She also paid attention to comfort in the house (heating, bedding, room, etc.), so I always felt taken care of. About the work: it’s flexible and quite collaborative. She has many ideas and ongoing projects, and she shares them with you openly, asking what you feel more drawn to. She’s genuinely open to suggestions and actually appreciates new ideas, which makes the experience feel more like creating something together rather than just following instructions 🤝 Overall, I’d recommend this place to someone who enjoys creativity, freedom, and a more human, unconventional experience ✨

Dariush is a well-traveled, experienced photographer who brought great energy to our team. Unfortunately, we didn't get many chances to connect deeply due to scheduling. Still, I highly recommend him—professional and skilled!

A wonderful time with Elier, Soledad and Facundo!! The place is nice, the job isn't feeling like working for a person who loves to do art and craft and has many projects in mind and the family is adorable!! It's so nice to have been part of that family for a while 🙏 When you arrive in Kurileufu, you don't want to leave then... and when you have finally left, you keep wonderful memories in mind ✨ The room is cosy, the food is great and you share so many peculiar moments with family and friends without counting your time and appreciate never ending shared conversations 🫶 I (Camille) was there solo/by my own, but there is no difference for couples: wonderful shared time! Muchas Gracias, Elier & Soledad, mi tiempo con ustedes fue un tiempo que nunca olvidaré 🙏🫶
