Siri is an AMAZING host. We felt at home since the moment we arrived. We only had to teach English a few hours a day and in return Siri gave us food, accommodation and showed us around Kamphaeng Phet. We learned so much about Thai culture, which we don’t think we would have just by visiting Thailand. We had a lot of time to prepare for the lessons and the children were very good. It felt very rewarding teaching them! We also had a couple of days off to visit Chiang Mai :) Thank you for everything, Siri! Hope you see you again in the future!

We loved our workaway stay with Beatrice and Hugh. We did some mulching, pruning, wood splitting and olive harvesting in exchange for a cosy cabin and 2 delicious meals each day. They were both very friendly and welcoming hosts and we really enjoyed getting to know them, exchanging travel stories and experiences and playing games. Thank you so much for a great week☺️

Andre was fabulous! Impeccable with his work standards and a lovely person to spend time with. He worked on quite a few of our garden projects and did a great job. He looked after the studio and left it clean and tidy. We really enjoyed sharing meals especially when he cooked Rosti ☺️ Andre was here for two weeks and we would have loved him to stay longer. Thoroughly recommended to all hosts and welcome back here anytime 🙏

My first work away experience could not have been any better! Giulia, Roberto, Mattia and Andrea were so welcoming and friendly. Their apartment in the heart of Catania is amazing with colourful artwork and photographs that make their house feel like home. Then room provided and all the facilities were great and made my 3 week stay very comfortable. Their pets are adorable and I loved my walks with the dogs numerous times a day. I got to explore all that the east coat of Sicily has to offer with great recommendations from Giulia and Roberto. Giulia is an amazing cook and always included me at mealtimes, she made sure that I was comfortable and well looked after. Roberto very kindly arranged for me to take one of the island tour buses to explore some of the region and was able to help plan my adventures. The boys were quite shy but it was great to spend time with them and get to hear about their school and summer camp activities. They are lovely kids. I would say to anyone who is considering a stay with the family to definitely go ahead as you’ll love every minute!

It was a great pleasure having Norah volunteering with us! She helped us really well with a variety of tasks, such as landscaping to have more water infiltrating on our campsite, daily cleaning, mulching and more.. She was always ready to help out and open to learn new things! She is a very kind and calm person, really nice to talk to, eager to make a positive impact and we would recommend her to any host! Thanks for everything Norah :)

Ana was a heaven-sent! She worked on our hobby farm for about two weeks and did an excellent job at all of the tasks (e.g. watering and caring for our flowers, berries and fruit trees, transplanting, cleaning, and more). Due to some unforeseen circumstances and with mutual agreement she spent almost 6 weeks looking after my 93 year old mother who really liked her. All of us miss Ana and her cheerful personality. She will always be welcome to return and we wish her the best.

このWorkAwayでの経験は本当に素晴らしかったです！毎日2回、ラマを散歩に連れて行ったり、彼の牛たちに餌をあげたりする時間がとても楽しかったです。クリスチャンと過ごす時間も本当に楽しく、いつもくだらない話題で笑ったり、時々スペイン語を教えてもらったりしました。彼はとても穏やかでリラックスした人で、そこもすごく良かったです。 また、1日だけ彼の祖父母の農場のお手伝いをさせてもらったのも、とても良い経験でした。お二人は本当に優しくて、私自身はスペイン語がほとんど話せず、お二人も英語はほとんど話せないという状況だったので、今までで一番本物の文化交流を体験できた気がします。 さらに、彼のおばさんの牛の乳搾りのお手伝いをする機会もありました。おばさんも私のつたないスペイン語にとても辛抱強く付き合ってくれました。 全体的に、本当に素晴らしい1週間でした！彼のプロジェクトがこれからどんな風に発展していくのか楽しみにしています！ 頑張ってね、クリスチャン！そして、何から何まで本当にありがとう。またいつか会えることを楽しみにしてるよー :)

Meis was a wonderful person to host. She approached every task with a positive attitude, worked hard, and was always in a great mood. Her friendly nature meant she got along well with everyone and was a pleasure to have around. In fact, Meis stayed with us twice during her time in Australia, which speaks volumes about how much we enjoyed her company. She quickly became part of our household, and we appreciated both her contribution and her cheerful presence. We would happily host Meis again and highly recommend her to any future hosts.

For my first workaway experience, I was incredibly lucky to have simply the best hosts in Kerry and Martin. They put me at ease from the moment I arrived. Kerry and Martin are natural hosts: warm, kind, understanding, interested in you and interesting people themselves. It's a gift not many people possess. Three weeks have flown by. We did everything together with Kerry, who is a very hard working lady herself, not afraid to get her hands dirty. I enjoyed every minute of it, from our breakfast together, to work until lunchtime. Then I often explored the beautiful villages and towns of Landes, driving around, to join Kerry for supper. Sometimes in the afternoons Kerry and I sat by the pool reading and swimming. We had lots of interesting conversations. Work was varied, from weeding, planting, watering, painting to some cooking and house keeping. So it never got monotonous. My accommodation was great, a very spacious apartment in a separate barn. I enjoyed watching films before bed and chilling after work there. I was also lucky to meet Katie, their eldest daughter, who spent a memorable week with us. I haven't met a sweeter, kinder, smarter young girl in a long time. It was always a pleasure chatting to her. Katie would actually chat me up, curious and genuinely interested in my life, just like her parents. She's a credit to you both, Kerry and Martin. When Martin was back from his work in London, we all had some fun time over supper in the garden. Also, Kerry and Katie started me off on my hopefully continuous journey of yoga and pilates. You both were marvellous! Thank you 😊 And Kerry, our food preferences are simply spookingly similar!.. From chia yogurt breakfast to creative poke bowls... Every time I have a poke bowl now, I think of you 😊 and thank you for your thoughtful gifts of special balms. I'm using them all, the organic skincare queen I am myself. All three made me feel like a part of their family, including me in every aspect of their daily life. It was a perfect combination of time together and giving each other space. After just over three weeks with this generous family, I felt enriched socially, psychologically, mentally, physically. It's been like a therapy for me at this most difficult time in my life. I always felt looked after, comfortable talking to you and being in your home. You are the most perfect hosts, making workaway what it should be - a fair, honest, comfortable, enriching experience for both parties. People either have it or they don't. You're natural. Thilde was a wonderful volunteer and a valuable member of our team. She taught English with enthusiasm, dedication, and professionalism. She was always kind, respectful, and patient with both students and staff. Her positive attitude and willingness to help created a great learning environment, and our students truly enjoyed her classes. One of Thilde's greatest qualities was her ability to integrate into the local community. She built strong and positive relationships with the people of the city, showed genuine interest in the local culture, and was appreciated by students, families, and community members alike. Thilde adapted very well to her new environment, worked collaboratively with the team, and demonstrated a sincere commitment to the educational mission of the center. We wish her every success in her future projects and adventures.

Lew and Nikolaj are two young brothers full of energy and very good willing. Within there all stay, they were full of courage and so helpfull. I have passed some very good and happy time with theese two curious and open minded nice fellows. I hightly recommend them.

Manon stayed briefly at our retreat center last year. She helped with hospitality tasks working in our communal kitchen, large garden and assisting with care of the cabins, library and pavilion. She enjoyed the access to the Sound and the company of other volunteers. Her volunteer contribution was appreciated especially as we operated with an interim staffing structure during her stay.

Me and my friend Suski spent around 4 weeks with Sem and Halil, and as our first Workaway experience, we feel very lucky that we ended up at their place :) Their home and the land is incredibly beautiful, its surrounded by mountains, trees and views of the sea. We stayed in our own, beautiful house which has definitely everything you could possibly need, including shower and washing machine. The work was varied and the workload always felt fair. We did things like weeding, taking care of olive trees and other plants, helping get the swimming pool ready for summer, and clearing the waterway on the mountain. Halil also did a workshop for us about building watering system for a garden which was really interesting! Sem and Halil are both warm, fun, generous people and made us feel included from the start. I'll always remember all the interesting conversations together and sweetness that we were shown during our stay. They were also really thoughtful on our days off and always drove us to either the bus stop or somewhere else, and we also got to go to a local market together to gather food supplies which was really fun. The food provided was always plentiful and all the cookings super delicious - I really love food and cooking, so getting to learn about Turkish cuisine was really, really special for me. Overall, this felt like so much more than just a place to volunteer. Thank you Sem and Halil for opening your home to us and for making our first Workaway experience such a positive one. We left with a lot of gratitude and a lot of happy memories. Hopefully see you another time again!! Sending lots of hugs from Finland! ps. The doggies are super cute and I miss all the cuddles with them!!

The earth farm was my first Workaway experience, and it opened a world of opportunities and learning for me. Jodi is a true powerhouse of kindness, wise beyond her years at just eleven. There’s much to learn from this remarkable child. Diane, over the years, has become like family. Working alongside her in the marvel of her home has been a gift. Through her guidance and the many volunteers I had the pleasure of meeting, I gained invaluable skills and unforgettable memories. Diane has been the perfect host, making not only my first but also my subsequent Workaway experiences profoundly meaningful. I wholeheartedly recommend this host. The work and the forest are both rejuvenating, offering a glimpse into a world that, sadly, is fading—but one that leaves you renewed and inspired.

Marta fue una voluntaria 10/10 en todos los sentidos 💛 Desde el primer día mostró una actitud increíble: fue muy organizada, proactiva, responsable y siempre estuvo dispuesta a ayudar en lo que fuera necesario. Se adaptó muy rápido a todas sus funciones, ya fuera en recepción, limpieza, jardinería o apoyando al equipo en el día a día. Siempre hizo todo con mucho cariño y con una energía muy positiva. Pero más allá de su trabajo, lo que realmente hizo especial a Marta fue la persona que es. Ella no vino simplemente a hacer un voluntariado, sino que terminó siendo parte de la familia. Se integró con el equipo, con los huéspedes y con todos los que compartimos el día a día con ella. Es de esas personas que hacen la diferencia: alguien en quien puedes confiar, que ve lo que hace falta y toma la iniciativa sin tener que pedírselo. Siempre aportando, siempre con una sonrisa y con una muy buena disposición. Estamos muy agradecidos por el mes que compartimos con ella. Dejó una huella muy linda en el hostel y estamos seguros de que será recordada por muchas personas que tuvieron la suerte de conocerla. Gracias Marta por tu trabajo, tu cariño y por convertirte en parte de nuestra familia. Te vamos a echar mucho de menos y esperamos verte nuevamente pronto 💛🌿

Nichola and Nigel were super :) I can't thank them enough for their maturity and independence - exactly what I need here. They worked together and separately on loads of different tasks. They were happy to tackle a wide variety of different jobs and were not fazed by anything I asked them to do which is wonderful for me. Worldly, well travelled and full of positivity. They gave me 100% of their muscle and energy...on the land, in the house (cleaning, cooking etc.) and were great company too. I would highly recommend them to any host to whom they might apply in the future.

Truly felt like a family, best hostel I’ve ever stayed at in my life, so I am very grateful to have had this experience. Reception work was easy and chill and so fun to chat to all the guests. Would highly recommend salsa classes with Vyonne! Bunk beds are comfortable with a small fan that blocks out any noise so sharing a room is no problem. Wish I didn’t have to leave. Plenty of hammocks to chill in during the day, and a safe neighbourhood. Daily activities every day. If you’re extroverted this is the place for you. Thanks for everything Jose.

If you're lucky enough to stay with Andrew, come prepared for some of the best food you'll ever eat. He truly cares about quality, real ingredients, and where food comes from, and it shows in every meal. My experience was short, but it was more than enough to leave a lasting impression on my heart. The atmosphere was welcoming, peaceful, and relaxed. The work was fair and manageable, and one thing I really appreciated was Andrew's ability to understand the needs and strengths of each person in the group. He communicates clearly and directly, which creates a supportive environment where everyone knows what is expected and feels respected. Andrew is incredibly intelligent, and if you enjoy meaningful conversations, you'll never run out of things to talk about. One thing I've learned is that if you understand and respect his rhythm and way of doing things, you'll get along wonderfully. The land itself is beautiful. I camped by the river, and it was a deeply healing experience to fall asleep and wake up surrounded by nature. And the neighbors were the cherry on top! I love children, and I had so much fun playing and spending time with them. Thank you, Andrew, for opening your space and sharing a little piece of this Sacred place. It was a beautiful experience, and one I will remember with gratitude. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic Workaway experience with good food, good conversations, and a genuine connection to nature. 🌱

What an awesome girl Julietta is! Super funny, super happy, super ready to help. And she’s better as a volunteer! Responsable, smart and very helpful. Having here here was very good and we will reccomend her 100% for ever!
