  Description

  (EN) We live together, but each at home, on our farm. Our children are grown up and are independent. We have an old farm with several buildings, including a cottage, and six hectares of land. Sheep, donkeys, geese and other poultry are raised or housed there. we also do some beekeeping there. Gardens are also cultivated here. We carry out constant maintenance there, entangled with various small episodic chores (hay, wood, weeding, etc.) As for me, I am a merchant marine captain at the end of my career, but with very diverse activities. I have travelled a lot and am a little tired. that said, being always involved in nautical and aeronautical activities, I sometimes have absences. I would like to exchange "helping hands" (within the limits established by "Workaway") for lodging and meals, conviviality, cultural exchanges, visits to the region, languages, etc... Our farm is at the heart of the northern Cotentin countryside. The neighborhood is friendly and the nearest neighbors are around 200 meters away. The nearest coastline is 7 kilometers away. Cherbourg is 15 kilometers to the north.
  
  (FR) Nous vivons à deux, mais chacun chez soit, à la ferme.
  Nos enfants sont grands et sont autonomes.
  Notre ferme est au cœur de la campagne du nord Cotentin. est une ancienne ferme dotée de plusieurs bâtiments, dont un gite, et de six hectares de terre.
  On y élève ou héberge des moutons, des ânes, des oies et autres volailles. nous y faisons aussi un peu d'apiculture.
  On y cultive aussi des jardins.
  Nous y menons un entretient constant, emmaillé de diverses petites corvées épisodiques (foins, bois, désherbage, etc...)
  Quant à moi, je suis un capitaine de marine marchande en fin de carrière, mais avec des activités très diverses.
  J'ai beaucoup baroudé et suis un peu fatigué. cela dit, étant toujours impliqué dans les activités nautiques et aéronautiques, il m'arrive parfois d'avoir des absences.
  Je souhaite échanger des "coups de mains" (dans les limites établies par "Workaway") contre le gite et le couvert + convivialité, échanges culturel, visite de la région, langues, etc...
  Notre ferme est au cœur de la campagne du nord Cotentin. le voisinage est sympathique et les voisins les plus proches sont à environs 200 mètres. le littoral le plus proche est à 7 kilomètres. Cherbourg est à 15 kilomètres au nord.

  Accommodation

  (EN) 2 Bedrooms in the main house. one with shower area and individual toilet. the other with a shared shower and toilet. 2 bedrooms in the rural gite (but usable when the latter is not rented). This rural cottage is autonomous, but free at different times of the season. out of habit, it's often me who's behind the pans and saucepans, even the barbecue. but everyone is welcome to participate. anyone can access the fridge and the kitchen, according to their needs.
  
  (FR) 2 Chambres dans la maison principale. une avec coin douche et toilette individuelle. l'autre avec douche et toilette commune.
  2 chambre dans le gite rural (mais utilisables lorsque ce dernier n'est pas loué). Ce gite rural est autonome, mais libre à différents moments de la saison.
  par habitude, c'est souvent moi qui suis derrière les poêles et les casserole, voire le barbecue. mais tout le monde est invité à participer.
  n'importe qui peut accéder au frigo et à la cuisine, au gré de ses besoins.

  (EN) There are bus lines. but there is always the possibility that I will drop someone off at a given place, to pick them up there if necessary. This can be organized parallel to my "logistical" comings and goings. I'm pretty flexible that way.
  
  (FRI) Il y a a des lignes de bus. Mais il y à toujours possibilité que je dépose quelqu'un à un endroit donné, pour aller l'y rechercher si besoin est.
  cela peut s'organiser parallèlement a mes allées et venue "logistiques". je suis assez souple de ce coté la.

  (EN) Motorhome does not mean mobile home. The size of a large van is OK. Aunts are also possible. No problem for cars. / (FR) Camping-car ne veut pas dire mobil home. La taille d'un gros fourgon est OK. Les tantes aussi sont possibles. Pas de problème pour les voitures.
