Simon’s Workaway was the remedy I didn’t know I needed. I initially came for 3 weeks, but ended up staying 2 months and am now going back again just like so many others before me. Besides being fun, generous and a clear communicator, Simon truly cares. He genuinely truly cares about every single Workawayer which is so moving and rare. That is why his home and the space he has created and continuously create, feels like a second home to so many of us. At Simons place I found the community I didn’t know I was longing for and developed deep friendships in this short time (even traveled on with one of them) and I found a space to grow gently in myself and where I and everyone else is accepted with warmth just the way we are. Also we laughed soo so much, like real belly laughs everyday Simon is a very good cook too. Vegetarian shepherds pie quickly became an addition to my homey-comfort-meal collection 🥰

Rut is very kind to families and children :-). She is very responsible and helps with household chores. She enjoys new experiences and discovering new flavors! As a family, we really appreciate that she wanted to join in activities such as going to the fair, church, etc. Mile still remembers you :-). We wish you all the best and hope to see you again. Thank you so much for being with us!

Lisa stayed with us in February 2026 and took care of our dog Snips, a high-energy Malamute–Shepherd mix, for about a week. Snips is an active and demanding dog who needs both physical activity and calm, confident handling, and Lisa did an excellent job on all fronts. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly comfortable with dogs, even those with a lot of energy. Snips bonded very well with her and integrated smoothly into daily family life while she was here, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Communication was easy and straightforward, and we always felt that Snips was in good hands. We were very happy with Lisa’s stay and would absolutely welcome her back again. We can highly recommend her to other hosts looking for someone responsible, caring, and capable with energetic dogs.

I worked for two months last summer. It was my first Workaway experience, and it was an unforgettable summer! Elisa was incredibly kind to me. Even though I was a bit stressed at the beginning about speaking Italian with customers, she was always there to help me. The entire staff was very welcoming and always available whenever I had questions. At the restaurant, I was first in charge of cleaning and setting the tables, and after a few weeks, I became more confident and started serving customers directly. The shifts really depended on the period: June was much calmer than July, of course! The restaurant is amazing, with a very chill, bohemian atmosphere. Having a beach bar is such a great bonus! The customers are young, relaxed, and really cool. The house is about a 10-minute walk away. It’s a big house shared with all the staff, which makes it really fun. I especially loved the balcony with the hammocks ;) I rented a bike during my stay, and it was the best decision ever! Lido di Spina feels like a little paradise, a small village surrounded by birds and trees. It’s so peaceful, and I absolutely loved it. Thanks to my bike, I was able to discover new beaches and nearby villages. Overall, I’m incredibly happy that I chose them for my first Workaway experience. Thank you, Elisa and Angelica, for trusting me, even though I didn’t have much experience before. And thank you to the whole team for your patience and support. Please say hello to Sponky for me, he miss me a lot! Have a wonderful summer :) Grazie di tutto

I had a really lovely time staying 3 weeks with Katina and felt at home very quickly. Paddington is a great area to stay in with its hills that offer beautiful views especially at sunset. I also loved how close the river is. It’s perfect for going for a run or a long walk. The work is simple and easy to fit into the day which leaves plenty of free time to explore. During my stay, I had the chance to visit North Stradbroke Island and had a day trip at the Eumundi Markets and Noosa. Both were great experiences and highlights of my time in Australia. Katina is warm, kind, and genuinely passionate about wildlife, which was really nice. I loved learning more about the local animals and watching the possums coming down in the evenings. I also really appreciate spending time with her cats and discovering new recipes when Katina kindly offered to share a meal. I’m very grateful for this experience and would absolutely recommend staying with Katina. Thank you again for everything!

I loved staying with Courtney and Sam – they are such lovely people, and I felt at home and welcome from the very first moment. I really enjoyed spending time with them and their cats, and even watching TV together. I usually don’t watch TV at all, but we ended up watching some really funny and interesting shows. They always made sure I was doing well, included me in their activities if I wanted to, and made sure I wasn’t working too much by calling me inside for "coffee time"😄. Overall, the work was very fair and reasonable, and nothing was too difficult. The property itself is huge and the view is absolutely beautiful, so you can really enjoy your time there, whether that’s reading, spending time together, or just relaxing. There are also some lovely places nearby to explore if you have a car. I truly loved my stay here, which is why I extended it from the initial two weeks to seven weeks. Thank you so much for the wonderful time, Courtney and Sam. I already miss you and the cats and hope we’ll see each other again someday!❤️

Megan and Bruce (dog) were super company and while Bruce played with my 5 dogs Meg worked in the garden. Bruce is a great ambassador for Rottwielers as he has a lovely nature. We all got along great and I'd have them back without doubt.

Our first Workaway experience surpassed all expectations. Gandis and her family welcomed us with open arms, quickly becoming our home away from home. We shared countless moments of laughter and genuine connection. The opportunity to teach English was particularly rewarding, allowing us to engage deeply with the local community in Temanggung. This was more than a cultural exchange; it was the beginning of lifelong friendships. Thank you for everything!

First time ever we hosted a family and it couldn't have been a better experience. Aga and her family turned our place into a home for everyone. Cooked a delicious Christmas meal, helped with decoration, took care of our plants, helped with maintenance and any thing else we needed them for. It was so sad to let them go and we wish them nothing but the best!

We had a beautiful time with Jennie and Saali!! We spent one week at their lovely home, we had our own studio, very cool. They have cows, sheeps, chickens, two lovelyyyy dogs 🥰 and two adorable kittens!! Unfortunately, the weather was bad so we painted every day but we were very satisfied to see how the laundry looks now!! We really recommend this place, it was a very pleasant stay, also Paul was happy to talk about music with Saali and Oscar. last thing: they're also great cookers 😃 thank you so much Saali and Jennie for having us, it was a pleasure ✨

Marjolein stayed at our place for 3 weeks and helped with gardening, building a dead hedge and taking care of our pets. She even house-sat while we were on holiday and took great care of the place. Highly recommended!

My first Workaway experience was excellent. Grant is a very kind, caring and welcoming person. I had no trouble communicating with him because he adapted to my low level of English and always took the time to speak slowly and explain words when necessary. I felt really well integrated from the beginning, which I truly appreciated. I also had the chance to meet some of his friends, discover New Zealand culture, and have a real local experience. The work was simple and the hours were very reasonable. Grant is also a very good cook 😉. So I had an amazing week. A big thank you to Grant for hosting me. I highly recommend him as a host!

It was only one week, but every single day became very special to me. Jason, Sonnyjoe, Harlem, and Zeus were all such kind and wonderful people — a truly lovely family. I was sad that I didn’t get to meet Jacinda and Kora in person, but I was really happy to talk with them on the phone! I also went to Jason’s workplace and helped out there. He let me work at my own pace, and I honestly really enjoyed pulling weeds. I already miss the cooking, Minecraft, and domino games! I would love to see you all again someday.

Kui and the team welcomed us warmly. We became part of the “Fai Fun family.” We got to know not only the staff but also volunteers from Thailand. The play activities with the children were a lot of fun. We would travel to the locations, set up the toys, play with the children for about 2–4 hours, and then pack everything back into the bus. During our time with the project, we were on the road most days, which allowed us to get to know different regions and cities across the country. Nevertheless, we also spent a few days on the beautiful farm, building toys and enjoying a good time together at the table in the evenings. … and the team took great care of our well-being.

I had a great time during the two weeks I spent on Koh jum. Helping out with the English classes in school, helping with a bracelet making workshop, cleaning the beach... The longer you stay the better you'll get to know the children and get attached because they are adorable! ^^ There was also plenty of time to walk around and discover places, interact with locals and other Travellers alike. Help out in the garden, swim, chill on the beach. The shared house is very nice, you have all you need and food is really good :) Thank you for the important work this project does on the island! I wish you all the best!

Yuho, Shota, preethi and Ai-chan gave me the warmest welcome from the first moment. I can truly say that this is one of my favourite workaways . It is located in the most beautiful place. The work was very fun for me and I learned a lot while being there. Yuho, Shota and Preeti are great hosts. It was always very important to them that we feel comfortable and have everything we need. They are also incredible people that I feel very lucky to have met. We went to the supermarket once a week and there is a supermarket van coming once a week as well. (It is important to bring some food with you when you first arrive) Every Saturday we did a communal meal where they always made sure (since I am vegan) that there is plenty of vegan food on the table. There Is a community event in the shear house once a month, and so many opportunities to learn about the Japanese culture through living it. When I was there we made mochi in a traditional way and miso, sushi and takoyaki. On new years Eve we went to the local temple and joined the ceremony there. It is an amazing place with the intent to reconnect to the roots and relearn a way of living that is closer to nature. I extended my stay twice and can't wait to come back. Yaara.

We had a lovely stay with Hiro and Sophea. They are very friendly and knowledgeable people, and were always happy to share their knowledge and experience with us. We learned a lot about coffee, cacao, farming and its challenges. Before arrival, they were helpful and easy to communicate with. Though we didn't take the package including food (as we are vegetarians), whenever they made something vegetarian, they always shared it with us to taste, which was so nice and delicious! The farm and surrounding area are also so beautiful and peaceful. It was just perfect! Thank you so much Hiro and Sophea, we had an amazing time. We hope you enjoyed having us too. All the best, and hopefully until we meet again. Take care, Nele and Gin
