Description
Kia ora! We are a loving and caring family (whanau), living on top of Takaka Hill (Pikikirunga) in the stunning Tasman Bay, close to Motueka and the Abel Tasman National Park, and serving as a gateway to Golden Bay.
My name is Jacinda, and my husband is Jason. We have three wonderful children: Sonnyjoe (9), Kora (8), and Harlem (3). Our family dog, Zeus, is also a beloved member of our whānau. My mum a.k.a Nana D also lives in her own self-contained unit next to us.
We love camping, hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors. Proudly of Māori descent, we have a deep appreciation for our culture and are eager to share that with others. We have plenty of knowledge about local activities and hidden gems in the area.
We strive to live sustainably, growing our own vegetables, raising 21 free-range chickens for fresh eggs, and hunting and fishing for our meals. Our home is rainwater-fed and features its own sewer system. We enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi and good phone reception.
Our property spans 96 acres, which requires regular maintenance like mowing, fencing, and weed control. If you enjoy farm life and want to spend time with our family, we’d love to hear from you!
Please note that you’ll need your own vehicle, as we’re about 30 minutes from public transport. We offer a semi-self-contained room with a fridge, kettle, sink, etc. However, bathroom and laundry facilities are in the main house.
Kia ora, and thank you
We are just a lifestyle block that is only requiring help, we are not a business sorry. We are also not needing childcare. Explore Māori arts. Weaving, waiata/songs, cultural dance and poi
Discover our food and cooking traditions, including the preparation of a hāngi (earth oven meal). Also collection of kai Moana (fish and shell fish) and cooking other cultural meals.
Understand our deep connection to nature through sustainable farming and foraging.
We also look forward to learning of other cultures.Projects involving children

Help
Our family needs help with a variety of tasks, both indoors and outdoors.

We stayed in a room separate from the main house and had our own mini kitchen that Jacinda and Jason made sure was stocked with snacks, breakfast supplies, a hot plate, and kettle. We also had a printed sheet of house rules that made it super easy to know what would be expected of… read more
