Description
Unique experience to be part of a small dog sledding operation located in pure Yukon’s Wilderness.
Hello adventurers, travelers and dog lovers
I run a small size dog sledding operation (32 dogs) in the beautiful surrounding area of Whitehorse, Yukon (45 min from Whitehorse). I specialize in multi-day expeditions from 3 to 14 days. Living with dogs is a way of life out here. Taking good care of the dogs and sharing time with them is connecting with the real NATURE every day.
I’ll be looking for a reliable and mature person to help with the dogs for ideally a couple months. It is a nice outdoors playground out here (20 min from Kusawa Park and 1h from Kluane Park). The summer months (May to October) are pretty relax, which leaves time to explore around or have some side projects or job.
**Note** This is not a full time job. It consists of 1h/day 5 days/week. It generates a salary of about 400$ CAD. Accommodation is provided, but food is at the helper`s charge.
The desired set of skills is: enjoying being outside, working with his/her hand, being in a good physical shape and enjoying the company of dogs. Experience with sled dogs is an asset. Having a car is ideal or minimally a driver license.
The accommodation consists in a 16 feet camper equipped with a wood stove, firewood, cooking facilities, a 12V battery and generator. Cellphone network works fine out here!
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information

Dog sledding is a way of life. Developing complicity with dogs on the trail and sharing their enthusiasm is a life changing experience. Dog sledding has deep roots in the Yukon history. Travelling with dog teams in the wilderness is also travelling back in time and experiencing a simple way of life.
