    Description

We are a very young community, founded by two families with a lot of community experience each. In Autumn 2025 we moved to this beautiful Place in Vellach, just next to the river "Vellach", which is a very nice natural resort.

Our core values are nonviolent communication, sustainability, independency, and to give everything for the next generation. A lot of our daily business focused on our kids; four/five days a week, the kids are going to Kindergarden/School and there's usually also one or two adults with them. The other time, they are always around and also happy if you play with them.

Our goal is to live a somewhat self-sufficient life very soon, therefore we already started with our vegetable garden. We have 2ha of land, so there is enough space for a huuuuge garden.

There is a nice House, a few other buildings, and they are new to us as well. We just started with a few reconstructions that are possible during winter, and with preparing the property.

Join in for good regional/seasonal/vegan food, cool conversations, board games, cool nature, high mountains and fun kids!

Four Adults: Usually there is one person working during weekdays, the others are around or on the road with the kids.

Four kids (3, 4, 6, 10): to protect the privacy of our kids, we don't put too many details about them on the web. Also, the pictures on the profile are edited for privacy reasons.

Almost all (adult) residents are able to speak French, but it's definitely no habit to any of us. One person knows Dutch, other community members also know some Swedish/Spanish.

ABOUT OUR REFERENCES... You might be wondering about our old references.
We used to run a small community farm in south Germany, but we stopped that community project in 2022, due to special circumstances and moved to Austria. It was just awesome having this workawayers energy around, so we were eager to start over again.
We hosted an incredible amount of workawayers already and we also wrote a lot of references (as you can read below). Writing a good reference takes time, and a lot of workawayers don't really need references (e.g. we usually don't check for references if the person seems to connect personally). For saving time, we decided to write references only when workawayers ask for it or if they leave a reference first. Please feel free to ask!! Nevertheless, it's nice to get a reference from time to time. ;-)

Since we have a biological wastewater treatment only, you are NOT ALLOWED to use non-organic shampoo or toothpaste anywhere on our property (this also applies to makeup and other products that enter the sewer system). We provide acceptable alternatives upon request.

    Can possibly accept pets

It depends on how you are planning to stay here. Dogs (and other animals) are usually not allowed inside the house - but you can have the dog in our own tent/van and in the garden... Dogs also need to be family-friendly, and trained strictly. And finally, you need to take care of their faeces (not just in our garden but also when doing walkies), since dog food tends to be not organic - and we are an organic farm.
