Hi! :) I'm Mark from Ireland. I've been travelling the world for many years, mostly teaching English but also working in hostels and volunteering. After lots of searching, I've found the perfect place to try my big dream! Here in amazing Tbilisi, I have opened a little hostel. If you’d like the opportunity to stay in the center of this great city and explore all it has to offer whilst making friends from around the world, and can help me with the day to day running of my hostel, then I'd love to meet you.
My hostel is a fun, relaxed and friendly place providing great service for our lovely guests.
We've had a lot of volunteers work here already, and they've been awesome! So my standard and expectations are pretty high. I hope for people who are fun and sociable and enjoy meeting and talking to new people. :) I also hope you work hard and use any skills you might have to help me make this a wonderful memorable place for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks a lot for your interest!

If you've stayed in hostels before, you'll know what a wonderful and diverse environment they provide. Especially here in Tbilisi where travelers from all countries and cultures come. You'll have the opportunity to make many new friends, as well as plenty of time to explore the city and country. Hopefully you'll receive an interesting cultural experience with new backpacker friends and locals too. I understand that you're coming here to see Tbilisi and Georgia, not to spend all your time making beds and brushing floors.
Also, I’ve been an English teacher for many years, so if you need some help improving your English, it would be my pleasure. And if you have any interest in opening your own hostel some day, I will teach you what I know about this industry :) I can also help you plan your trips in Georgia and get the most out of your time in Tbilisi.
And I hope to learn from you. If you've any skills, whether they something online or just how to paint the walls well, I'd love to learn :)
If you have hostel work/volunteer experience, that would be great. If not, that's OK too :) I can show you everything. But it's important that you're a nice, polite person with a good attitude. And to remember, that although I want you to have a fun time, make friends, and create wonderful memories, it's also important to remember that guests are paying customers and we must treat them as such. And this has been my big dream for a long time, so I hope you respect it and help be a part of it coming true. :)
As for duties and my expectations, it would be super if you could help with the list of things above as well as any other hostel related things which may need done.
The main duties will be:
-Socializing with guests
-Helping guests with any questions they might have
-Hosting social acitivities, like picnics in the botanical gardens or cooking nights
-You will have a bed in the staff dormitory.
-You can also use the fridge and kitchen, of course. Unfortunately I can't provide your meals at this time, but volunteers often cook and eat together. :)
In your time off there are so many things to do here in Tbilisi and many beautiful, interesting places in Georgia to visit. We are located within Old Tbilisi so most of the main attractions are right here in walking distance. And the metro is also a few minutes away.
Lesilidze Street is next to us for cafes, bars, and restaurants. The river and Botanical Gardens are walking distance too. As are all the museums, galleries and historical buildings that Rustaveli Avenue offers. There's even a fancy mall five minutes walk away (Gallery) for some fast food, bowling or movie theater.
