Description
Hello and welcome!
My name is Malkhazi, and together with my wife, I run our family winery, Makhare, and our small guest house in the beautiful village of Zeda Sazano, in the Imereti region of Georgia. We have two adult children and grandchildren, so family is a very important part of our life.
We live in a peaceful and beautiful place surrounded by mountains and a river. There are no other houses or buildings nearby, so it is very quiet and you can really enjoy nature, fresh air, and the peaceful countryside.
Wine making is a big part of our family and our way of life. We make wine using traditional Georgian methods that have been passed down through generations. Autumn is a particularly exciting time here because it is grape harvest season! It is a busy time, but also a lot of fun. We harvest the grapes, make wine, share meals, and enjoy the whole experience together.
We would love to welcome someone who is friendly, open-minded, enjoys nature, and is interested in learning about traditional wine making and Georgian culture. You will have the opportunity to experience village life, help us with the winery and guest house, and become part of our family for a while.
We look forward to meeting you, sharing our home, our wine, our food, and our Georgian hospitality with you! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
* Social Activities
We enjoy spending time together as a family and would be happy for our Workawayers to become part of our everyday life. We can share homemade meals, enjoy our own wine together, talk and spend time by the river or in nature.
During the grape harvest and wine-making season, there are many opportunities to work together, but also to have fun and share good moments. We would also love to show our guests some of our local traditions, food, culture, and the beautiful surroundings of Sazano.
We believe that the best part of hosting is getting to know each other, sharing stories, and enjoying simple moments together.
* Skills and Knowledge We Can Share
We can share our knowledge of traditional Georgian wine-making and vineyard work, including grape harvesting and the different stages of the wine-making process.
We are happy to introduce Workawayers to Georgian traditions, homemade food, local customs, and the way of life in an Imeretian village. We can also share our experience of running a small winery and guest house.
Most importantly, we are happy to teach what we know and learn together. If you are interested in wine, nature, gardening, cooking, or rural life, there will always be something new to discover with us.
* What We Learn From Our Guests
Hosting people from different countries and cultures gives us the opportunity to learn about their lives, traditions, food, and ways of thinking. We enjoy hearing their stories and discovering how different people live around the world.
Every person who stays with us brings something new, and we believe that hosting is a two-way exchange. We share our Georgian culture, traditions, food, and wine with our guests, while they share their own experiences and culture with us.
For us, the most rewarding part is making new friendships and meeting people who may come from very different places but can still feel like part of our family. -
Help
We would be very grateful for some help in our vineyard, especially during the grape harvest in autumn. You can join us in picking the grapes and experience this special and traditional part of Georgian life.
We would also appreciate help in the winery during the wine-making process. We use traditional Georgian methods, so it is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in wine to learn and take part in the process.
From time to time, we may also need some help around our guest house, depending on the season and what needs to be done. -

Accommodation
We have a comfortable wooden guest house where Workawayers will have their own private room and bathroom. The guest house is clean, safe, and surrounded by beautiful nature.
We provide three meals a day, including homemade Georgian food. We are happy to share our family meals and, of course, our own wine with our guests. -
What else ...
Our home is just a 10–15 minute drive from the main road, where regular transport is available to nearby towns and the major cities of Georgia.
In their free time, Workawayers can simply relax and enjoy the peace and beautiful nature around our home, or explore the surrounding area, which has many interesting places to visit and discover. -
