    Description

We are a family of 4 who 5 years ago moved from a busy city to the countryside and having a great time since then :)
Our property is located 20 km south west from Morelia City, next to the community of La Angostura, Acuitzio del Canje, Michoacán.

It is a 150 has ranch of mainly forest and hills with an eco-community on its startup phase with two bio-adobe houses and a club house to be built with bio-adobe walls, stones and mainly eco-materials. The site has a unique view to the shire of Acuitzio del Canje and Tiripetío valley.

Downhill, over a flatter ground, it’s the main house where me, my parents and 14 pets live. There´s a greenhouse in the area and a few meters further, the apiary for honey production.

I’m in charge of overall the eco-community management, whilst my dad of the eco-home building projects as well as the civil engineering projects of the site.

Basic food supply like rice, beans, tortillas, eggs provided, and 2 or 3 times a week we will cook together chicken or fish. Coffee, bread and honey is always available in the mornings and at night. Help in the kitchen is essential.

Cell signal and internet are available. We have electrical light and hot water, but the water supply is limited, so the limit of time for shower is 5 minutes. I hope the volunteer works 5 hours a day or by project. Our pets (6 dogs, 3 cats, 3 ducks and 2 horses) are our family too, so woofers must like animals and respect them.

Volunteers will learn the principles of bio-construction & green technologies, beekeeping and organic farming. They will also be in contact with rural people and all their wisdom.

    Can possibly accept pets

Guests have to be super careful in the beginning with their pets. Our pets have learned to respect our ducks, birds and horses and soon we'll have chickens. Therefore, its important to keep an eye very closely until being 100% sure that they won´t attack any of them.
