    Description

Hello, we are Pablo, Jessy and Mela, we are a family from Mexico, we live in the state of Hidalgo, one hour from Mexico City.

We are looking for two great workaways to participate in our farm for the months of May and June.

Help us with our vegetable garden and worm compost

Our family loves country life and we are passionate about the idea of creating our own self-sustaining farm.

For 3 years we have had a rabbit farm for meat production and some chickens for egg consumption. We are also working on the construction of a small garden for our consumption, which we want to fertilize with the rabbits' fertilizer. We are also working on remodeling our garden.

We are eager to see the result, since we will have our own pool and oven to make delicious pizzas, in the Italian style that we learned to make on our trip.

This year we have many interesting projects and without a doubt we are going to need a lot of help and we would be happy to continue meeting people from different parts of the world, and share a lot of what we have.

We have had the opportunity to volunteer in several countries, and without a doubt it has been a unique and exciting experience, now we want to share this experience and be wonderful hosts.

In our family we always have the spiritual part in mind and we are happy every day to have a new day and we thank God.

We also love visiting different places and going out to explore nature, and of course you will be invited every week we have different plans.

For these activities, what matters most is enthusiasm and the will to learn. If you are excited to live in a sustainable environment, see new places and be part of this family, this is the right place.

We can't wait to meet you and have fun together!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are a small family of three, but we have a large, welcoming family nearby, and we often spend weekends together in family gatherings. We love to explore nearby tourist spots, cities, and take breaks from time to time. We also enjoy mountain biking, and we have bikes for some fun routes.

Food is a big part of our lives, and we’re passionate about Mexican cuisine. We’re always on the lookout for new places to try different dishes, and if you know how to cook, we’d love for you to share the traditional food from your country with us, as well as join in on any activities you’re interested in.

Our community is friendly and welcoming, and we’re located one hour from both Mexico City and Querétaro. We’re also close to several beautiful “pueblos mágicos” (magical towns), like Tequisquiapan, Bernal, Mineral El Chico, and Huesca de Ocampo, all full of Mexican culture and charm. Once a month, we enjoy going on excursions to new natural places, doing outdoor activities, and sometimes engaging in extreme sports—feel free to join us if you’re up for the adventure!

We’re only 5 minutes away from the bus station, where you can access different destinations. Additionally, we offer language exchange as we’re eager to learn new languages, and we’d love to share our Spanish with you while you teach us yours.

The main activities to do on the farm are:

Cleaning and feeding of animals such as rabbits, chickens, cows and sheep
We are recently remodeling the back part of the garden and we need help with someone artistic who has an idea of decoration and will help us plant bushes, build a pergola and of course in everything we will be accompanying them and teaching them how to use each tool.

We are in the process of being an eco-sustainable farm, and we want help with the family garden that we will be starting to build and as well as maintain it, water the garden, harvest, collect the fertilizer from the rabbits and package it to have it ready in the garden, all this to have organic foods produced by us.

Another activity that we are looking for is to make a house for our chickens, since they are currently cold in a large warehouse that we have, and we want to give them a better life, so we are looking to build a small chicken coop where we will have our chickens to lay their eggs, which They will feed us day by day.
