Satnaam! Welcome to our Ashram!
**we are open for last- minute workawayers and also short stay**
It is our blessing to welcome you to our home in Estonia, located 25 km from Tallinn (20 km from Tallinn Airport) and close to Aruküla in Raasiku vald. We started building it and blessing it with since 2012, and now is an active place for Sikh Dharma / Kundalini yoga community, including sadhana, sangat’s gatherings, teacher training, ashram experience, women’s camps, gong evenings, spiritual warrior camps and other spiritual events in the tradition of Sikh Dharma, Karam Kriya and Kundalini Yoga. We are a growing community of humans who love living in the forest and respecting nature.
The main concept of the Ashram is to be very down-to-earth, to experience a humble and simple lifestyle while enjoying the bounty of the forest around us and the elements in their pure form. When you come to our events, you will be spending most of your the day outside! This was a deeply meditated decision by Sukhdev, who is also and architect and urban planner. She has drawn inspiration from her experiences in those fields as well as all the retreat places she visited for over 15 years all over the world. The main intention was to make all buildings separate so that you experience being outside all the time – it has a fantastic added effect on the human psyche, specially for those who live in cities and spend most of their time indoors. The prana charge is fantastic, sometimes even overwhelming! We have off-grid electricity solely coming from solar panels, pure water coming from a deep well, outside showers and dry toilets. We ask our guests to kindly respect the use of all resources and to experience the power of this simple lifestyle while their stay at the ashram. Less is more!
** We have groups coming and then the ashram is very busy with a full schedule of morning yoga and other activities (listening in the training space is upon agreement). If we dont have groups then the ashram is very quiet and we mostly have garden work and general maintenance things, but it might be that there is few or no other volunteers around and you are the only one staying, please take that into account.
** We will kindly ask volunteers to read our Ashram House rules before your stay to make sure you agree with how things work around here.

Besides this, the off-grid forest lifestyle in the estonian countryside with low impact sustainability, including traditional sauna, dry toilets, walks to the nearby bog, berry and herb picking etc. Teet is a wood restorer so you could also learn how traditional methods of wood recycling and restoration work.
Language practice in english, spanish, estonian and very likely russian and other languages. We also have children and if there is interest you could also organize some activities with children.
During the summer months, we open the ashram to volunteers and different yoga courses, Kundalini yoga teacher training, and such. Travellers can work in different fields depending on their interests and abilities: vegetable garden, general maintenance of buildings, cooking meals for the volunteer groups, mow the grass with the tractor, etc. The main focus during the 2022 spring season is to prepare the ashram for the summer events. Please be aware that we do not allow alcohol, smoking, drugs or meat in the premises.

Travellers and volunteers will be sharing one of the cabins (we plan to host 3-6 travellers per one time) and during courses or trainings others will also sleep in the remaining beds (only selected days per month). You can chose amongst yourselves to share one cabin or to have a cabin on your own, depending on availability. We may also ask you to relocate to another cabin etc based on group requirements. The washing facilities are shared and are located outside of the cabins. Food will be prepared by the volunteers, and will be mainly vegan (with certain vegetarian -milk- options).
