I had the absolute pleasure of spending 6 weeks in Ullapool with Katie, Kim, Kirk, and their wonderful family, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at home. The family is warm, kind, and generous, and I couldn’t have asked for better hosts.
Caring for their children was a joy — they are

I was also given my own accommodation right in the heart of Ullapool, which made it so easy to explore the village and its beautiful surroundings during my time off. Being located on the NC500 also made it a great spot for meeting fellow travelers or, if you have a car, to go explore other parts of Scotland. I was also able to connect with many other Workawayers and Worldpackers staying around the village.
The family was incredibly thoughtful and went above and beyond to make my stay even more memorable. They gave me great suggestions for things to do around the area, from nature walks to scenic drives, and were kind enough to lend me their camping equipment for a weekend getaway, which was a fantastic experience.
Ullapool's tranquility and its proximity to nature were huge highlights for me. I spent many peaceful days exploring the beautiful landscapes, and it’s also a great base for exploring the Outer Hebrides. The bus to Inverness makes it easy to travel further afield if you want to explore more of Scotland and don't have a car.
I truly miss the family, the village, and all the lovely experiences I had. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with a strong sense of community, a chance to meet other travelers, and generous, thoughtful hosts, I highly recommend this Workaway. I can't wait to return!

This was my first experience of a workaway and my goodness was it incredible! I was welcomed as part of the family, appreciated and cared for more than I had ever expected. I cared for Katie and Lawrie's two girls who were absolutely divine. They both loved being outside, going to the various children's groups and reading books. There was never a

Even during the winter there were plenty of activities and Christmas festivities. Ullapool has a lovely sense of community and of course the landscape is spectacular.
The flat was ideally located in the center of the village, with a glorious view of the loch. Walking distance to Tesco's and the children's groups. I was able to form a lovely relationship with the girls Granny, who lived in the flat next door too, as I often visited with the girls.
It was such a wonderful experience, thank you both for having me.You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We where so lucky to have Jana come and look after our girls. She was exactly what we wanted, fun, easy going, happy and great with the kids. She did so much with the children both indoors and out. She also took them to all the classes that where available, to see family and on trips further away from the village. The girls loved her and cant wait

This workaway experience was definitely more than I could have ever expected. I stayed in a lovely flat (which I had to myself) for almost 6 months and enjoyed every single day in this place, with an amazing view out of the windows. 3 days per week I took care of Kirsty and Katie's kids Nell, Winnie-May and Meggie, 3 wonderful, lovely children who

There are a lot of activities for children in Ullapool, like a bouncy castle, loads of playgrounds and parks, a little forest for adventurous walks, and toddler groups. It was never boring at all!
Although Ullapool is a small village, there is always something to do. The town has great pubs with live music, delicious food and outdoor music events. For nature lovers it's an especially great place for hiking, biking, canoeing or just walking around and enjoying the lovely scenery. If you drive up along the North Coast 500 you will get landscapes and beaches which could be from a holiday catalogue. I also went to the Hebrides of Harris and Lewis with the Ferry from Ullapool, which was a amazing trip.
What else can I say? It was absolutely one if my best experiences and I couldn't ask for better hosts than Kirsty and Katie (plus their partners!) Thank you so much for everything you've done for me and for giving me the option to stay in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland.Feedback

Aida was brilliant with our two girls, she looked after them perfectly and understood their needs immediately and was sweet and fun with them. Both girls are under 2years old and she coped very well with looking after them at the same time. She stayed in our family flat and took good care of it, it was left very tidy when she left and we where

My experience was very nice with this family, I helped taking care and having fun with 2 lovely girls in the comfort of a the flat, they love to have walks around Ullapool, jumping puddles, books and also they have some activities during the weekend like toddler's club ☺️
