    Description

We’re a friendly family living in a lovely part of South Wales, surrounded by the beautiful Welsh valleys and countryside. There are plenty of hills, woodland and walking routes nearby, making it a great place for anyone who enjoys nature and exploring.

I have three children, aged 6, 7 and 12, so family life is a big part of our home. They are friendly, energetic and enjoy meeting new people. We’re looking for Workawayers who would enjoy being part of a family environment and getting to know the children as well as the local area.

We’re also in a great location for exploring South Wales. Cardiff is within easy reach by bus or train, so you can easily enjoy the city, shops, restaurants and attractions. There are also beautiful valleys, countryside, castles, walking routes and the coast to discover nearby.

We hope you’ll feel at home with us, enjoy our family atmosphere, experience a little bit of both Venezuelan and Welsh culture, and leave with some great memories!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As I’m originally from Venezuela, we can offer a lovely mix of Venezuelan and Welsh culture. We enjoy sharing our food, traditions, music and everyday way of life, and we’d love to learn about our Workawayer’s culture in return.

We hope to create a relaxed environment where we can share meals, cook together, chat and exchange stories about our different countries and experiences. Our children, aged 6, 7 and 12, are also naturally curious about different cultures and would enjoy learning new words, games, traditions and things about the Workawayer’s home country.

For us, cultural exchange is about sharing, learning from each other and experiencing what everyday life is like in another culture — while hopefully making some good memories and friendships along the way.

    Help

I’m looking for an au pair to help with my three children, mainly with their day-to-day routine, getting ready, meals, school-related activities, playing and keeping them entertained, and general childcare.

My work is in the wedding industry, so my schedule varies considerably. Some weeks I may be very busy with weddings and work commitments, while other weeks I may be completely free or working from home.

I’m therefore looking for someone who is flexible and happy to adapt to a changing schedule. During busy periods, I may need more help, while during quieter periods there may be much less childcare required.

I’m also open to someone staying beyond the main busy season. From around October until March, my work becomes much quieter and I mainly work from home, so there would be plenty of flexibility during this period.

The most important thing for me is finding someone who genuinely enjoys being around children, is responsible, reliable, caring and becomes a positive part of our family.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will have your own private room in a separate part of the property, giving you your own space and privacy while staying with us. You are also welcome to use the main house and all the shared facilities, so you can feel comfortable and at home.

We have a large garden which you are welcome to enjoy, whether you want to relax outside, read, have a coffee or spend time with the family.

The house also has easy access to public transport, with bus and train connections nearby, making it convenient to explore the local area and travel to places such as Cardiff during your free time.

Food is flexible and relaxed in our home. Workawayers are welcome to eat the meals we prepare, and we’re happy to include them in our family meals. If they prefer, they are also welcome to prepare their own meals and use the kitchen and facilities to cook for themselves.

We’re happy to share our food and enjoy cooking together, and we can also take into account different tastes, preferences or dietary requirements.

    What else ...

There are lots of things to enjoy in your free time. South Wales is a fantastic area for hiking and walking, with many beautiful trails, countryside routes and opportunities for hiking and exploring nature. There are also plenty of places to visit nearby, and Cardiff is easy to reach by bus or train.
We simply ask that everyone respects each other’s privacy, keeps shared spaces tidy and is considerate of our family routine. We have three children, so our home can sometimes be lively and busy, but we also want everyone to feel comfortable and have their own space.
We’re flexible and open-minded, and we’re happy to discuss routines and expectations when you arrive so that everyone has a positive and enjoyable experience.

Digital nomads are welcome, and there is flexibility to fit remote work around helping us. We understand that you may need time and a quiet space for work, so we’re happy to discuss a routine that works well for everyone. There is good access to public transport, making it easy to get around during your free time. The local area also has plenty of opportunities for walking, hiking and exploring. We just ask that any agreed help is completed reliably and that you communicate with us about your working schedule so we can plan around it. We’re happy to be flexible and find a routine that suits both sides.
