We are an older couple originally from England and now living in the west of Ireland with our lurcher. The small town where we live is quiet and close to our local forest, lake, with swimming area, and the river Shannon. The town has several pubs, cafes and small shops. Our daughter lives close by with her children.

Accommodation
We live in a detached house in a cul-de-sac.
You would have a double bed room with ensuite bathroom.
We normally eat a continental breakfast with the occasional egg and bacon breakfast too.
Lunch is light
A cooked meal in the evening.
What else ...
As we are in our 70's we would prefer somebody who is middle-aged or older.
There are walks in the Portumna forest and around the lake (Lough Derg), also a castle and castle gardens, all in walking distance.
Public transportation is rather meagre here, unfortunately.

(24 years)
Jesse is a male lurcher (greyhound cross breed) and of course likes to run and chase!
Berndt and Ray were hard workers and entertaining, we managed to get a lot accomplished in house and garden during their stay and our living room is looking much improved, fresh and bright. I hope that they enjoyed their stay with us and we didn't over work them too much. We had fun playing games in the evenings along with sampling Bernd's cake… read more making skills! Thanks again for your help!
Diane and Tony are very welcoming and always friendly hosts. It was a very nice experience to stay these two weeks with them for both my son and me. Communication was always very prompt and precise. It was lovely to host our first workaway person, a new experience for my husband and I and we were not quite sure how things would work out having a relative stranger living with us in our home. Then Kim came to our house and fit right in with us, she worked independently, seeing what needed doing whether it was cleaning, cooking us delicious… read more meals or helping me in the garden . Kim is a hard worker and always ready to help, my lurcher Jesse adored her and loved being taken for walks by her.
It was such a positive experience for us that Kim will be welcome back anytime.
We wish her all the best in her future adventures and we will miss her.
Any future host will be lucky to have her.

Your actions have touched my heart. And I am incredibly grateful for everything you've done for me. Your generosity has made a significant impact on my life. It's funny yes she was teaching me things I didn't know about gardening and I was expecting to cook because people hear I'm an Executive Chef but it's like they were spoiling me and taking care of me much needed though from despair I've seen in Disaster's. Words cannot express what a wonderful couple they are and my boy Jesse. Everything they say in bio is exactly what you get and more. So please be kind to my new family. And watch out Tony likes his crisps by his chair lol and Jesse. And they are great listeners you gave you good advice. Love and will miss you guys but I'll be back. Can Jesse go with me for a bit lol 😆. Diana you know I'm not good with writing or leaving voicemails lol.
