    Description

*We are looking for a couple or 2 friends*
We are located in the sunny south east of Ireland in Co. Wexford. Our property is truly unique, a real one off gem with a beautiful long sandy beach of over 2 km with direct private beach access to the a really stunning beach that you can walk for miles. There are lots of wonderful walkways through the property, plenty of animals – micro pigs, ducks, geese, pheasants, chickens, Shetland ponies, peacock. We are also a bird sanctuary and have birds and animals to care for and release back into the wild. The entire property is a nature reserve. You will have your own lovely cottage on site for your accommodation. We are looking for people to assist with the day to day activities for 5 days a week for approx. 5 hours per day. Accommodation provided in a lovely cottage, together with food. Unfortunately there is no WIFI on the property but is available in the local village 3km away. It is a really special place and offers a tranquil, peaceful and delightful environment for the right person. The nearest village, Kilmuckridge is 3km away, nearest town is Gorey (18 km) and Dublin is approx. 90 mins drive. There is lots to do in Wexford , cultural sporting and for leisure. There are quad bikes, bicycles and kayaks all on site for you to enjoy plus great fishing just off our beach. Plus in the sunny south east we get the best weather in Ireland!

We are also an animal sanctuary so will get to see rare birds and animals which we care for and then release back into the wild. In the past we have had pine martins, owls, otters. It can be very varied as to what animals and birds we have.

  • Help

    Help

The exchange is to help out and assist in the nature reserve with gardening duties, woodland tasks, undergrowth clearance, maintenance and repair, planting of trees, planting of wild bulbs, looking after the animals, reserve projects, pond cleaning, building walls, harvesting wild fruits, building fences, help with repairs to roads, property care, caring for our gardens, woods, and fauna and collecting data on birds and wildlife.

Knowledge of how to get along in construction or with chainsaws, strimmers or carpentry would be a real advantage.

You should be a good communicator, responsible and trustworthy, with a deep enthusiasm and passion for wildlife, conversation, trees, and natures. You must be able to speak English well and work on your own initiative.

Ability to drive with a clean Licence would be helpful as there are neighbouring reserves in Co. Wicklow where similar work is carried out at times.

Wexford is a great location/base from which to explore the South East of Ireland. You can compact your work into a few days of the week if you would like then head off to explore the countryside before returning back again. We are totally flexible and can provide suggestion on routes/attractions etc.
