Description
Organic farm inspired by permaculture and syntropic principles in an isolated area 10 minutes walk away from a wild beach and directly in contact with a protected nature area. We aim to regenerate the soils while acting towards diversity and resilience. Care, autonomy, flexibility, acting with love, authenticity and transparency are main values of the project as we try to embody it. The farm is also hosting retreats and workshops.
The project started in 2005 with Nour's family, Tawfiq and Laura. Then Nour and Tommaso came in 2010, after Laura left and they started planting the food forest. First they sold their products at the local market. Then they created a from farm to fork experience during 7 years. Since 2023, the project took a new turn. Nour is holding the project alone, maintaining the fruit trees and opening the farm to become a retreat center.
Even though she is, for the moment, the only staff of the farm, many beautiful energies come, when available, to give a hand and participate actively to the beauty of the place. First of all, Tawfiq, her father, comes regularly, to plant trees and water them. He helps a lot with bettering the infrastructures. Hervé, a retired carpenter helps us a lot with building creation and maintenance. Maurice, a retired machine driver, comes from time to time to help us with mechanics, and sometimes plants a part of the land. Mano, a retired builder, give us a hand whenever we do some concrete work. Peter comes regularly to give us a hand with maintaining the land. And several friends come when a "koudmen" is needed (help), like Thierry, Alain, Céline, Gladys, etc.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
There is always a lot to learn from one another. If it happens that I am not available at the time of your stay, you will definitly be attended by others (helpers or workers). Being a child of the world, you will not only be immerged in Martinique culture but also in a more cosmopolitan one.

Help
I look for highly motivated helpers, open minded, caring and genuine human beings sincerely wanting to explore autonomy, flexibility, and harmonious lifestyle. People passionate about exploring this living in the wild experience. A big plus for respectful beings taking responsability for their emotions and needs and who are able (or at least trying) to communicate them.
We try to adapt helpers' activities to their physical possibilities and their interest. Main tasks are clearing the land (weeding, trimming, chopping wood), taking care of the few animals we still have, watering the plants, seasonal work (seeding, cuttlings spread, harvesting, transforming) and maintenance work (cleaning the buildings we rent, repairs, etc). There is a lot to do so we can usually find something that meets your interests and capacities, except if there are high priorities requiring all the present energies.
Sometimes we will work together, and sometimes, if you gather autonomy , you will be able to work by yourself or with another member of the team. You will learn about local plants, herbals, fruit trees; you'll gather skills or practice them and will surely learn a lot from this beautiful land.

Accommodation
A shared room working as a team dorm, common kitchen shared by all volunteers and a shared bathroom. Mattress and mosquito net are provided as well as sheets and towels, but you can also sleep in a hammoc or in a tent if you prefer.
Volunteers cook together in their common kitchen, I'll join them (if they invite me) whenever I can.
Ingredients are provided! Volunteers share a kitchen and often cook together. I'll try to join you when I can, if you invite me ;)
What else ...
The site is quite isolated.
They are some things you can do around without a car (trecking, horse riding, beach) but if you wish to visit the island in your free time you should consider renting a car. I will provide a little guide with many infos, and you will definitly gather more, fitting your particular interests, when we meet.
If you are afraid of insects, of open spaces (the houses have no windows and we leave everything open), of dry toilets and of loneliness and obscurity (in low season you might be the only volunteer) this location will not suit your needs.
It is a no drug space! Please respect it! And please, even if it is allowed by law, no heavy drinking on the farm premisces and no smoking inside the buildings.
