Hello,
I'm Izzy, currently back in the UK planning my next adventure. I am here at Workaway with an open mind and willingness to learn more about the world. I quit my job in Sales at Christmas 2022 and I have not looked back.
My first experience in volunteering was working at a Care farm which involved helping people with different disabilities take part in tasks around the farm. This is where I realised the importance of being outside in nature and nurturing animals and plants and the impact this can have on our well being. I loved it so much I still volunteer there now. Since then I have helped at a meditation community centre in Sheffield, helping clean the air BnB rooms and cooking for residents and visitors. I'm people person and really enjoyed living in a community sharing stories and supporting each other.
For the summer I traveled around Spain and France in my little van and volunteering through workaway. I was lucky to meet some amazing host who have taught me so much already. Mainly I have been helping at rural small holdings, off grid places where I have been learning about permaculture, DIY, sustainable living and everything about the great outdoors. My drive at the moment is to continue learning and meeting like minded people and one day have a small piece of permaculture heaven to call my own.
I'm very happy to cook, clean and everything in-between. Motivated to take on any job no matter how big or small. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and get stuck in. At the moment I am especially passionate and interested in sustainable living, off grid spaces, permaculture, foraging and eco building.

and the never to be forgotten day of removing pallets from the car when the boot wouldn't open....
