    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our culture at our home is creativity - art - play and community. We love creatives. Someone is generally around and there is generally some project going on.

We can speak a teensie amount of French. But are open to other languages and it will be okay - lots of tools to figure out communication.

We love to walk, bike, beach walk, garden, swim, play with bunnies, do backyard archery, burn fires in the pit - and ALWAYS have a passion project. Lots and lots and lots of lovely neighbours - in great spot in the community.

Thrift Store - the best in the world seriously- 4 minute minute walk from our home

  • Help

    Help

    Painting
Art - if you have the skill
Help to build kids fort in yard - project in process
Sewing - always something that has ripped
Bunny runs and new things for them out of wood
    Organize book shelf
    Gardening
More advanced- paint up high, fix a slow flushing toilet - ultimate would be a woodworker ** and we could work out specifics for highly skilled folks as this is a challenge for is to get $$
Practice bushcraft with child - he can share what he knows - and trade skills if you know some
Help with deer processing in that season - or head out hunting with us
Learn to can fish with us - in that season
Fish out front of the house - in that season - lots of rods here

Depending on the season and time of year - we could be working - or kiddo in school - grandma retired so generally around - join her for a hike or bike ride. Space is great - hoping for lesser hours of work from work aways in lieu of not cooking main meals - or having guest prepare main meal. Can provide breakfast supplies and basics for cooking - sometimes we are cooking big meals and other times we are not. So would be up for discussion. But we have lots of fish and often eat fish, rice and veggies. Unfortunately 1 person allergic to wheat and to corn. Lots of wheat and corn on property but main shared meals are home cooked and not processed - chicken, fish, soups are often our go to. Endless coffee available. Really really flexible with accommodating food intolerances or specific diets.

We flow with the seasons - so eating what is around.

3 beds in total with 1 roll away bed. 1 bedroom with sliding door and queen bed. The other beds are pull outs in living room - but blinds close and place is good for sleeping. Full bathroom. Full kitchen. Living room. Clean. Temperature control- heating or a/c. Washer-dryer. Able to shut and lock a door from attached home 🚪 for privacy and feeling secure in your own space. We are all attached in 1 home so at 8pm we try to turn off all loud noises that could wake others. Private door opens to outside right into garden. Hot tub outside of front door. Cups and plates mismatch - sofa is comfy and dated - but space is fun -matress is so good so comfy and new - nice linens- pillows are quality - new fluffy towels - art - books - toys and everything a person needs including a full body massage chair. Blinds and ability to have full privacy in space. Table and chairs.

Can stock some essentials in fridge for breakfasts and snacks. We eat a lot of local - so all depends on season - lots out of garden but again depends on season. Eat fish year round.

Can handle someone with mental health ups and downs but can't take on anyone experiencing a major life crisis (mental health crisis) or in active addiction- we are very rural with limited services - and this is a very remote location and we are a significant distance from major centers. Wanting to keep our home feeling safe for everyone. Mindful to keep the child on our property in good company. Safe space for LGBTQ. Can accommodate disabilities - but would need to discuss further to see if space is appropriate - but we have lots of projects that would be appropriate for individuals of all abilities.
