  • Description

When I was 16, my parents sent me to Powell River, BC to learn how to make bows from a traditional bowyer. That experience deeply shaped how I want to live my life: curious, hands-on, and connected to the land and the people around me.

Since then, I’ve spent as much time on the road as I can, traveling through van life, pet sitting, and couch-surfing across Canada. These experiences have taught me adaptability, responsibility, and how to feel at home in many different environments and communities.

I feel most alive when I’m outside. I love rock climbing, hiking, gardening, and simply spending time in nature. Being away from the city and seeing the stars clearly is something I deeply cherish, as I grew up in Calgary.

Creativity is also an important part of my life. I enjoy building and making things with my hands, working with pottery, creating art, and writing poetry. I’m especially drawn to working with plants through herbology and simple medicine making, and I’m interested in somatic experiencing as a way of staying grounded, present, and connected to the body.

For me, travel and food go hand in hand. I love trying new dishes and, even more, cooking and sharing meals with others. Food is one of my favorite ways to build connection and a sense of home wherever I am.

I’m drawn to Workaway because I genuinely enjoy helping, learning, and contributing to meaningful projects. Being part of grounded, intentional communities is what motivates me. The room and board simply make it possible for me to continue traveling while offering my time, care, and skills along the way.

Hosts can expect someone who is dependable, respectful, and genuinely engaged. I show up on time, communicate clearly, and take initiative once I understand what’s needed. I enjoy learning new skills, working independently or as part of a team, and contributing with care and attention. I’m comfortable with physical work, enjoy creative and hands-on tasks, and value keeping shared spaces clean and harmonious. I approach each stay with curiosity, gratitude, and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • More details about your skills

I studied culinary arts, environmentalism, gardening, and microgreens in high school, building a strong foundation in food systems and sustainability. I later trained in herbalism and foraging at The Light Cellar, and attended college to become a motorcycle mechanic, developing strong hands-on and mechanical skills.

I’ve worked as an environmental educator with The Howl Experience, leading hikes, guiding breathwork and meditation, supporting outdoor learning, and driving the program bus. I also worked at The Deanery Project in Halifax, contributing to carpentry, stained glass work, gardening, and catering for community programs. Additionally, I’ve helped care for horses and chickens while working on my uncle’s ranch.

I enjoy hands-on work and am always learning. Whether in the kitchen, garden, workshop, or outdoors, I’m reliable, adaptable, and happy to contribute.
