Hi!
My name is Villads and I am a 21 year old guy from Denmark. I am currently traveling solo around South America which I began doing in he middle of May 2024. I finished Danish gymnasium in the summer of 2023 and am now doing my gap years of which I think I will take a few more than one. Since I was 5 years old I have played floorball which is a sport that resembles ice hockey - just on a normal floor and without all the heavy equipment. This means that up until now, my life has been pretty straightforward with school during the days and sport practice during the evenings. I love playing floorball and I don’t regret having that as a big part of my life even though it sometimes has meant that I have had to make sacrifices.
Now, however, I feel the need to do something entirely different and throw myself into unknown territories. Therefore, I am traveling alone around on the other side of the world.
I signed up for workaway after being inspired to do so by living and volunteering in an indigenous community in the Bolivian jungle for a month. Here I was challenged a lot and I had a lot of firsts, but it was a very special experience that made me want to to something similar because I learned so much. I am especially looking for a place where I can be immersed with nature and another culture and maybe try to work with animals. I am also looking for a place where I can get a good relationship with the people I live with and feel at home.
I am an adventurous person with an open mind and ready to put myself into new challenges without frowning. I do, however, also have a calm and gentle mind and I enjoy my own private time just as much as I enjoy company. Just as I enjoy exercise and being active just as much as I enjoy quietly and calmly sitting with a book or my guitar or watching a movie - everything has its advantages.

My Spanish has by now reached a relatively advanced level and I have during my travels functioned as a translator in many different situations but I still have some way to go, so I am very eager to learn more. I am of cause also willing to help teaching English (or Danish) as good as I can as I know how important it is to be able to talk and have conversations with someone if you want to learn a new language.

As I am just 21, I still do not have a lot of working experience and I am here to learn.
After doing sports my entire life, I am in a general good physical condition and dont mind physical labour.
I am in general good with words and at communication and relations - and I am easy to collaborate and cooperate with.
I have limited musical skills but am always willing to share musical experiences with other people.
