    Description

    Welcome!

Our place is dedicated to indigenous cultures, native wisdom, music and art, ecological living, community life, permaculture and living in harmony with nature.
We are a family of musicians, gardeners, dreamers and vision keepers who wish to create a beautiful sanctuary for the heart, soul and mind. We participate in many forms of studies within the themes of ancestral cosmovision, music, art, permaculture, crafts and creativity, indigenous cultures and native wisdom, back to the roots, traditional life, healthy living, wholesome and sustainable health for all. Always inspired by Nature´s own perfect design, we wish to evolve this place to a little piece of Heaven on Earth. We want to get going with vegetable gardens, bee-keeping, fruit forests, building more accommodations, expanding the infrastructure, put solar panels, building dry toilets, work the land in many ways.

Our home is located in 30 min from Arendal in Southern Norway. The land is very peaceful and absolutely beautiful. We are blessed with large outdoor areas, large flower meadows and ancient forest. Here we live with wildlife such as moose, deer, eagle and hare as our closest neighbours. We are a multi-cultural family, with owners Anna from Norway and Alberto from Mexico, with our two young daughters. Our kids are 3 and 7 years old. We speak mostly Norwegian, English and Spanish together. There are often more people around, especially in the summer time. We have a big tipi, a sweat lodge and a big Mongolian yurt for events. We also have a large barn that serves as a community house. The barn has a community kitchen, communal showers/toilets, washing machine, event room with projector to be used by visitors and guests. We are musicians and there is often live music around. We also have a stage, and an outdoor dining area. The land is about 7 hectars. We have a lake for swimming. We hope to have a sauna in place before winter.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our ecological and community living, for study of indigenous wisdom and shamanism, for music, dance and art, and a family friendly place where we enjoy to create a small version of the world we ideally would want for our children and future generations. We receive some of the highest level of indigenous healers and wisdom keepers from all of the world as our guests, who come here to hold different retreats and cultural exchange programs - we believe the indigenous elders are those we need to listen to and learn from in order to understand a little bit more about our being and how to retire humanity's lost connection with nature.

For people with an interest in such matters would of course benefit massively. We also work with music and dance, as well as other wellness activities, through these external retreats. For the right person, a stay with us here we would provide an opportunity to study the native ways of Norse shamanic traditions, and also traditional native cultures from the Americas, from Siberia, from Greenland, from Africa and Australia. We will have to emphasise though that these retreats are separate from the daily tasks on the farm and the tasks Workawayers will be a part of. We are also blessed to have an amazing group of people that stay at the center, and our little tribe is just like coming home for the right person. There is lots to learn about gardening, bio-construction, bee-keeping, ancestral techniques, the shamanic path, to learn about Norse and Mexica and tipi culture, about magic, bees, life, music, dance and of course also meeting our interesting people from all over the world.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for people who have experience helping with their hands and that are ready to make an effort for our lovely place in the woods. We need people who have handy skills and can help lift this place up to its fullest potential through small DIY projects and/or helping Alberto on the land etc. . You might also be asked to help around the house with cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping and baby-sitting.

We have an amazing place that we want to take good care of and develop, so we want people that have a positive attitude, with a passion for sustainability and nature, who are kind to people and animals and that are efficient in their help.
We are happy to have couples/families as well as individuals. We want mature creative people who help efficiently with energy, joy and motivation to make something innovative and beautiful.
Write us a message and explain a little bit about yourself, your talents, your skills and what you would like us to know.

We want to emphasise that we are not always super social. We try to organise the WorkAway season so there are several WorkAwayers staying at the same time. Sometimes there are a lot of people around, and the centre comes alive in community, and other times it is only our family. We usually keep to ourselves in our free time, and it is important that you are able to keep yourself busy in your free time too.

You can stay first for a shorter trial period. Depending on how it goes and how it all flows, we can offer longer stay. We are flexible and open to negotiate solutions. Contact us for more info.
