Description
We started an urban permacultural project in the historic centre of Bogotá, La Candelaria.
The main idea is to create a sustainable place for gardening (growing food and medicinal plants), building mostly with natural materials, cooking healthy vegetarian food, creating diverse wall paintings and healing body & mind around the camp fire.
Purposes:
• to take care of live (cuidar la vida)
• to reconnect with mother nature
• to heal all our relationships
• to live healthy & happy

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can benefit from a new experience in a flourishing permacultural place in the city centre of Bogotá where knowledge about bioconstruction, gardening, medicinal plants and vegetarian cooking is shared.
My name is Klaus Wolfgang Escobar and I’m half-Colombian, half-German.
Earthlings who want to cocreate a peaceful world full of love, delicious food & harmony for every being are most welcome
Help
Dear volunteers,
We need help with many different tasks, so there's always something useful to do.
Besides, we built a beautiful roof terrace with bamboo (guadua) to have a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the sun.
Tasks:
There's a big garden to regreen "reverdecer" a central place in the heart of Bogotá. We need help planting as well as taking care of the plants, building with natural materials (bamboo, clay/mud), upkeeping the guaduas (bamboo), building furniture, painting walls and creating collectively an urban permacultural project!
Also cooking is mostly welcome :)
So gardeners/farmers, artists, cooks, constructors and ...

Accommodation
Workawayers get their own room with a comfortable matress. As a couple it would be the same room.
You’ll get a healthy breakfast and lunch, everything vegetarian and mostly vegan.
What else ...
In your time off you can explore the historic centre of Bogotá that is full of museums, libraries, cultural events and great restaurants/bars. Besides, the 'Candelaria' has beautiful mountains just around the corner and there are also many nice parks nearby. The greatest is the big variety of delicious colombian fruits that you can buy in every corner and specially in the colorful plazas de mercado.
EN COLOMBIA SE VIVE SABROSO
We don’t have WIFI and we prefer to sit around the campfire or to relax at the terrace, but you can get easily a Colombian SIM-card+mobile data for less than 10€ (for 4 weeks)

He’s a great guy that is always friendly and helpful with everything that’s needed. We had a really nice time together and I would recommend him a lot for other (permaculture) projects!
Hasta la próxima, un abrazo fraterno
I’ve been doing workaway for almost half a year now and Klaus is one of the most welcoming hosts I have had.
He is very knowledgeable about plants, food and Colombia’s ingenious heritage. I learnt a lot with my time there.
