    Description

We are an outgoing 41 yo professional female with an essential oil addiction, a quiet 17 yo male den dweller with a decent manga collection, a 14 yo female gamer who loves to draw. Kids live here 50% of the time.

This is our first time on Workaway platform, and hosting at this property. However, we were hosts on another platform in Melbourne for several years and had fantastic experiences. We have become lifelong friends with several of our helpers (including visiting them in their home country).

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    - English is our native language. We have some experience teaching English as a second language abroad. Can struggle through in French (and some Mandarin Chinese) if necessary.
    - We love to socialise (or leave you alone if you are introverted, or culture shocked, or simply exhausted after backpacking for a year)
    - We love to cook
    - We love to get out into nature - buskwalk, rockclimbing all that stuff
    - We'll take you out and introduce you to people.

  • Help

    Help

The property is very lovely, but too much for a single woman working full-time. I would love some help in the garden - mowing, planting, looking after the chooks etc. It is pretty cold here in the winter (can get down to -5 overnight), but the studio has a nice wood fire.

There's two sheds that need to be cleaned out. If you are seeking a rural idyll, this is it. Close enough to Uralla to pick up paid work too (if you know your way around a coffee machine...)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Your space is a rustic, studio conversion on 20acre property 5 mins from the vibrant country town of Uralla, NSW. The studio features a kitchenette, built in wardrobe, study, wood fired heater, deck, fast, reliable Starlink connection. No hot water in the studio, but easy to boil water etc. No phone reception (WiFi calls only). Shared bathroom/kitchen in main house.

Would suit a solo traveller, a couple or several friends travelling together. We can (probably) host up to 4 people at a time. Might need to test that theory (only one bathroom on tank water).

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Very useful to have your own car. Public transport does not exist out here. If you don't have a car, you will need a manual license to drive ours. We do have an electric bike which you can ride into town (5km).

Perfect set-up for the digital nomad. Seperate study in your studio space which has been purpose built for work-from-home. Good cafe with great ambient white-noise in Uralla (no wifi, alas).
