  Description

  Hi, we are Derek and Barbara Silk, an active retired couple living in Abdet/Confrides, Alicante Region of the North Costa Blanca. We relocated from England to Spain three years ago and loving our new life.
  
  We are also looking for help in renovating a wooden house we have. In need of help with landscaping, gardening, cleaning, painting. We require help from the 2nd week January.
  
  We have land of 4,600m2 full of olive trees over 5 terraces on the side of the mountain here in the Gaudalest Valley. The land is 20 minutes drive from our house.
  
  We have ongoing projects such as landscaping, irrigation and generally making the land more accessible and easier to maintain. Dry stone walls are always in need of repair or building. We many olive trees, almond and fig trees. The aim is to ensure we have a good harvest from all the trees. We also plan to plant citrus trees and a vegetable garden.
  
  We are Christians and therefore follow Christian principles. We attend Church on Sundays and sometimes during the week either in person or via Zoom. We also conduct Online English classes.

  We have land with Olive Trees and would like to invite Workawayers to come and assist us with Building Dry Stone Wall, Permaculture and Tree maintenance (pruning etc.) Spanish speakers welcome as would exchange English language lessons.

  Accommodation

  We offer room and board in exchange for help. A room with bunk beds, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Christians or non-Christians but who are non-smokers and non-alcoholic drinkers nor people who swear or uses foul language. Families with children are welcome. Kitchen is open for self-catering if desired.

• 

  What else ...

  Helpers are free to occupy their time-off in whatever way they like. There are many Walking and Cycling routes in the area, as well as many restaurants and bars close by. Albir, Alfaz del pi, La Nucia, Altea and Benidorm beach about 40 minutes drive. Helpers are quite welcome to just hang out at home with the family.
