A grand stone castle with round towers stands beside a calm reflective moat, surrounded by tall, dry reeds under a pastel blue evening sky.
A man and woman, both wearing sunglasses, stand smiling near a historic seaside fort under a clear blue sky. Rocky shore and distant buildings visible.
This cozy, rustic kitchen features wooden floors, a central island, large windows with bench seating, striped Roman blinds, and a table set for four.
A cozy single bedroom features a skylight, floral pillow, simple white bedding, wooden nightstands, lamp, fresh flowers, and three nature-themed paintings on the wall.
This image shows a lush vegetable garden with rows of onions, carrots, leafy greens, and various other vegetables, surrounded by greenery, grass, and trees.

    Description

We are a family living on a castle farm estate, steeped in history and set in the countryside. We are close to the sea (15 min cycle) and a local bus connects to our nearest towns. There are extensive gardens and woodland to enjoy peaceful spaces as well as a tennis court and natural swimming pond.

We are three generations living on the farm with some other full time staff too. We like to share dinner together in the evening and enjoy getting to know new people. We have two small friendly cocker spaniels. Living in our household there is myself, my husband and four young adult children along with grandparents next door.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We eat together in the evenings and enjoy cooking healthy meals for others and having typical meals cooked for us occasionally! For other meals it is usually self-service in the family kitchen. We can support our visitor with ideas of places to visit and lifts to make travel connections.

  • Help

    Help

We look forward to welcoming visitors to help us in the garden growing vegetables, feeding the hens, repairing stone walls as well other light tasks.

For work away volunteers we are only looking for help with growing vegetables, general garden maintenance. We are a working farm but we have local staff to help with that.
