  Description

  Together with my best friend Widya, I own a private school for English and Mathematics on Natuna Island. We are looking for travelers to show our students the importance of learning English and practicing their skills. You will join Widya or me in class but your task will not be teaching, rather motivating our students and having a chat with them or play a game. They are very interested in getting to know new cultures and new people. They are really excited to interact with foreigners. And we hope you can also motivate them how important English is and it will increase their motivations and their will to learn it. We will be so happy to host you in our place for sure. You will be like family for us and let's enjoy the beauty of Natuna happily.

  You will meet many locals. Natuna Island has nearly no tourists so the people here will be very happy to meet you. Be prepared that a lot of locals want to get in touch with you.
  At home we cook traditional Indonesian food, that we would love to share with you. We are also interested to get to know recipes from abroad. We also show you classical warungs (small restaurants), where you can find traditional food. Sundays we are happy to show you the nicest beaches of Natuna Islands. If you are interested, you can join us to church in the morning and get to know how we practice being a Christian in a mostly muslim area (we will introduce you to the local do's and don'ts). But don't worry here is a peaceful place to stay.

  Help

  We will be very happy, if you join our afternoon classes for maximum 2 hours a day and we are really thankful and we and our students really love it.
  Our students are always enthusiastic every time they meet foreigners, please help them to have conversation or play with them. It will become their unforgettable experience and it will make them happy.

  Accommodation

  You will have an own room with fan and mosquito-spray. We also offer pillows, blankets, WiFi and drinking water. We share kitchen and bathroom. We want you to feel at home, so feel free to use whatever you need.
  Make yourself comfortable or feel free to use my motorbike to explore the beautiful island. We are happy to see you are happy.
  We sometimes cook for you but you also can find many eating facilities around the place and a cheap market where you can buy fresh fish, chicken, vegetables and fruits.

  What else ...

  As we live on an island, you have to take a plane from Batam (the cheapest flights are on Saturday and Thursdays). You reach Batam with the ferry from Singapore or Johor (Malaysia). We can pick you up at the airport with our motorbikes.
  Natuna is famous for clean and lonely beaches which you can explore with our motorbike. At some places you can snorkel or rent a canoe. You can also go for a hike and visit the hidden beautiful waterfall. If you like to do sports, you can rent a bike at a café nearby. On the weekends some cafés have live music. Also worth a visit are Alif's Stonepark and the mangrove park. It will never be boring here.
