Description
We are a family Farm/Ranch. We are also only a few hours from Jasper national park, a Canadian jewel, (our hearts go out to the people of Jasper this morning with the tragic news of wildfire destroying much of the town).
We raise chickens, turkeys, and ducks for personal consumption and cattle for market. Our main crop is hay which we feed to the cattle. There are also bee hives and we harvest a small amount of honey each year.
The farm is over 900 acres and there is plenty of wildlife. Deer are near the main house daily and easily seen on the farm. Moose are seasonal and can be seen in many places on the farm. Also present but seen less frequently are cougar, wolf, bears, elk, lynx, and many small mammals and birds.
We are looking for assistance around the home gardens, greenhouse, and pens in exchange for free room and board. You may be boarded in the main house or a cabin on the property. The yard has many amenities such as seasonal pool, gazebo, BBQ, as well as opportunities to fish and quad.
We are also students of Spanish and would welcome opportunities to practice Spanish with guests.
It is important to note that the farm is tobacco and drug free. No smoking and no drugs.Types of help and learning opportunities

Western culture. Opportunities to see rodeos and work/learn on farm/ranch. We are close to the Canadian Rockies and day trips or overnight trips would be possible.
We hope to meet people from other countries and possibly obtain some solid travel advice for visiting their countries.Help
We are looking for help with gardens and yard work around our private home.
Painting, pressure washing, deck repair, pond maintenance and other yard tasks normally found around a home.
We would be working along side participants and if there is an interest in learning farming skills such as tractor operation we would be pleased to teach these skills.Languages
