    Description

Welcome to our nature school in Hanoi, Vietnam. Our school is located about 40 kilometers from Hanoi's centre and is surrounded by natural beauty - green hills , rice fields, fresh air. We choose this location for our school because we value hands-on learning and we believe children learn best from nature and from observing and doing real work like agricultural activities. As a result, learning in our school doesn’t just happen in classrooms; it happens in the garden, in the kitchen, during walks, and in everyday moments with the children.

Mindfulness is a part of our daily school life. At our school, everyone at the school practices mindful eating during all meals. During a school day, the mindfulness bell will ring every hour. This bell serves as a reminder for students, teachers, and staff to pause their activities, stop any wandering thoughts, and focus on their breathing. These small practices help both our students and teachers remain present and grateful for the little things in our lives

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We see every volunteer as a valued member of our community. You are warmly invited to join not only classroom activities, but also many aspects of daily life at the school – from school events and celebrations to outdoor trips and seasonal farming activities.

You’ll have many chances to connect with our teachers, students, and local community through simple, meaningful moments like preparing meals together, working in the garden, exploring the countryside, or just sitting and talking.

Cultural exchange is at the heart of what we do. Our students learn about the world through you – your stories, your culture, your way of seeing life. At the same time, they are always excited to share Vietnamese culture with you, from daily habits and food to traditions and ways of living.

By hosting people from different cultures, we hope to keep learning, growing, and expanding our perspective. Each volunteer brings a unique energy and story, and through that, helps both our students and our teachers see the world with more openness, understanding, and curiosity.

During your time with us, you will take part in inspiring cultural sharing sessions with our students from kindergarten to lower secondary. These English-speaking sessions are designed to be interactive, with discussions, Q&A, and experience sharing. we invite you to simply share who you are. This could be stories about your country, your culture, your hobbies, or anything that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to inspire our students and open a “window to the world” through your perspective. At the same time, students get to practice English in a natural, meaningful way through real conversations.

In addition, you are also invited to participate in hands-on agricultural activities such as hill climbing, weeding, soil digging, vegetable planting, and fruit harvesting. This is a chance to work directly with the land and experience the rhythm of farm life.

Our teachers will support you, and we often work together – sharing ideas, learning from each other, and co-creating activities for the students. It’s a relaxed, collaborative environment where both you and the students can learn and grow together.

Yes, we are very interested in language exchange. While our students are excited to practice English through real conversations, we also love sharing Vietnamese with our volunteers. Through daily interactions, you can naturally pick up basic Vietnamese words, expressions and culture.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We offer simple, comfortable accommodation within the school campus. Depending on the time of year and availability, you may stay in a private room, a shared room, or a dorm-style room with bunk beds. All rooms are equipped with basic essentials including mattresses, blankets, pillows, and bedding.

Meals are shared with our students, giving you a chance to experience daily life in our community. You will be provided with three main meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Our food is prepared using fresh, natural ingredients, and minimal use of processed seasonings. Every Friday, we have a vegetarian lunch, and you are also welcome to request vegetarian meals throughout your stay if you prefer.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We provide a school bus that connects our campus with Hanoi city center, making it easy for you to experience both the peaceful countryside and the vibrant city.

Volunteers can stay at the school from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, the school is closed because students are off and teachers are not on duty so you can take our school bus to Hanoi on Friday afternoon to enjoy your weekend. During the weekend, you are free to arrange your own accommodation, travel, or simply relax in your own way.

In terms of lifestyle, we value simplicity, respect, and mindfulness in our daily life. We appreciate volunteers who are open-minded, flexible, and willing to be part of a shared community space. It’s not about strict rules, but about living together with care, awareness, and mutual respect.
