  Ciao! My name is Claudia, I am 56 years old and I live in Bagheria, 10 km from Palermo, Sicily. I teach Italian language and literature in a public school, and my life is simple, made of books (I also am a writer, the book I wrote is about Pasolini) music and my job. Sometimes I play the piano and I love paintings. I live alone with my cat Emi, she is very precious for me.
  I love exchanging ideas with people from different cultures, I think it is a mutual enrichment. My home is a great starting point to explore wonderful places like Cefalù, the Madonie mountains, Trapani, Erice and Segesta, Palermo of course. The beach is 2 km far from my house. I would mainly appreciate help with my cat, taking care of her needs with love, and the normal running of the house: cleaning, tidying, shopping, help in the kitchen and various errands. Three hours a day are enough.

  This is not just a work arrangement, it is an opportunity for genuine exchange. I will be happy to share my knowledge of the area: the best places to visit, hidden beaches, and the local cultural life.
  
  I love cooking, and I enjoy discovering regional recipes together - so if you are curious about Italian cuisine, we can have fun in the kitchen, swapping dishes and traditions from our respective cultures. Informal language practice is also part of the experience: learning from each other, conversation by conversation.
  
  My home is full of light and colour - painting and drawing are a big part of my life, and if you have a sensitivity for art, we can share that too, in whatever way feels natural. I also play the piano, and I am happy to offer a few basic lessons if you are interested.

  Help

  Home Assistant & Cat Companion – Part-Time / Housesitting
  I welcome a reliable, caring woman to help me look after my home and my cat, both when I am around and especially during my absences:
  * September 2026 (20–27)
  * October 2026 (10–18)
  I welcome regular part-time household support (approximately 3 hours per day, on the days I am at home) with housesitting tasks during my travels.
  I would appreciate your help with:
  * Cleaning the house and keeping everything tidy
  * Grocery shopping
  * Cooking simple, wholesome meals according to my dietary guidance
  * Taking care of the terrace
  * Looking after my cat with love and attention
  * Driving my car if needed (a valid driving licence is required)
  Schedule Starting mid-September, I work every afternoon and return home around 8:00 PM. It would be lovely to come home to a set table and a warm meal. When the role shifts to full housesitting — independently managing the home and caring for Emi.
  Regarding meals A shared meal is warmly welcomed. Basic staples such as pasta, rice, and extra virgin olive oil will always be available, and you are of course free to enjoy the food you (or we) prepare. Please note that beyond this, any additional or alternative meals are at your own expense.
  
  Dietary note I follow a diet, so all meals should be simple and prepared according to my guidance.
  Order matters to me I am not looking for perfection, but for someone who treats my home with the same respect they would give their own.
  My cat, Emi 🐱 While I am away, she needs food, cuddles, and real company. If you merely tolerate cats, this is not the right experience for you.

  A single room with a private bathroom in a quiet, bright home. My apartment is in a condominium with a reception, in the city centre, 10 minutes walking to the train station, well connected with the airport and Palermo. My guest room is ready for you!
  
  A shared meal is warmly welcomed. Basic staples such as pasta, rice, and extra virgin olive oil will always be available, and you are of course free to enjoy the food you (or we) prepare. Please note that beyond this, any additional or alternative meals are at your own expense.
