    Description

We are a couple who live in Tórshavn, the capital of Faroe Islands. Our house is situated in a lovely green area with grazing animals and a creek running through, We are in the process of planting a grove of trees and bushes, making foot paths and resting areas on our 6.000 m2 plot. Additionally, we are part of a group cooperationg to preserve the Faroese pony breed, which is almost extinct. We are keen nature lovers and mountain hikers and participate in local cultural activities such as Faroese Chain dancing. We love to have our grandchilden visiting, taking active part in our activities.

    Voluntary work:
    1. Preparing for and planting trees and bushes, constructing footpaths and other odd jobs related to developing a green area of up to 6.000 m2 as part of our private homestead. No commercial activity attached.
    2. Taking care of endangered local breed of ponies being preserved in cooperation by privates, including feeding, mucking out manure, fencing and other odd chores. No commercial activity attached.
From the start, we will be doing tasks together and share skills along the way, to make the Workawayers skilled enough to be able to do the work independently.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

A private bedroom with a comfortable double bed and shared bathrooms and common spaces in a recidentail house (homestead). We provide provisions for the workawayers to prepare their own food with the option of eating together when convenient. We have two spare bedrooms and can accomodate up to two couples at the time.

We will take care of food shopping and will provide victuals/food ingredients for all 3 meals every day. Since we leave for work early in the morning and work full time, we will not always be able to eat together, but will cook and eat together when possible. We do love cultural exchange including sharing of food traditions and eating together.
