Description
We are a warm, multicultural Irish–Lebanese family based in Beirut, with four young children aged 6, 5, 3, and 1. Our home is lively, affectionate, and full of energy and imagination.
We’re looking to welcome a native French speaker to join us and help immerse our children, especially the older two - in the French language through play, stories, conversation, and daily interaction.
Our children attend a French school, and we’d love to reinforce their language exposure in a fun, relaxed, and natural way. We are not seeking help with cleaning or general childcare - we already have a wonderful housekeeper and nanny.
We live in a beautiful area of Beirut and will soon be moving into a new home with a private, self-contained one-bedroom apartment for our Workawayer. Beirut is a vibrant, welcoming city filled with culture, history, amazing food, and easy access to both the mountains and the sea.
We’re excited to share our culture and daily life, and we’re happy to support any interest you may have in learning Arabic or exploring Lebanon during your stay.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Staying with us offers a rich cultural exchange rooted in everyday family life in Beirut. You’ll be immersed in a multicultural household where we speak English, Arabic, and French, and you’ll experience a unique blend of Lebanese hospitality and Irish warmth.
You’ll have the chance to connect closely with our children, join in on family outings, meals, and local events, and get a real feel for daily life in Lebanon - from food and traditions to the rhythms of the city. We're happy to introduce you to Beirut’s vibrant arts, café, and music scene, and can help you discover both well-known and hidden gems across the country.
If you’re interested in learning Arabic, we can support you with lessons or informal practice - my husband and our housekeeper are native Arabic speakers and happy to help. In return, we’re excited to welcome someone who will share their own language, experiences, and traditions with our family.
We believe these kinds of exchanges enrich everyone involved, and we look forward to learning from you just as much as we hope you’ll enjoy learning with us.Au Pair Help

Help
The main focus of this role is French language immersion through daily interaction with our children - particularly the older two (ages 6 and 5). You’ll spend time with them in the afternoons after school or camp, and during weekend mornings or afternoons, depending on your schedule and theirs.
Activities might include reading together, playing games, doing simple crafts or homework help, anything that encourages conversation and natural French use. No formal teaching experience is required, just warmth, patience, and a love for spending time with children.
We’re flexible on timings and happy to adapt around your own learning or exploration. If you’re interested in learning Arabic, we can help arrange lessons or facilitate opportunities for practice with our family and local community.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to experience life in Beirut while sharing their language and culture with a welcoming family.Languages
