Description
Canela is a 40-hectare nature reserve in the Misiones Rainforest. We are neighbors of Iguazu National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World) and Urugua-í Provincial Park (the largest protected area in Misiones). We have a regenerative agro-tourism project, with the aim of spreading the message of NATURE PROTECTION to the world and providing visitors with a unique experience in direct contact with the natural and cultural aspects of our environment.
We produce organic food and medicine for our own consumption.
From September to November, we work in the plantations (harvesting and replanting turmeric and ginger, planting hibiscus and other plants).
In January and February, we harvest and process the hibiscus.
Throughout the year, we are constantly updating our facilities, building new wildlife observation points and meditation spaces deep within the rainforest.
We are located in the Cabure-í area, Comandante Andresito Department, (Misiones, Argentina), a small community of farmers descended from European immigrants, nestled in the most biodiverse environment in Argentina and has a first aid room, various stores and a daily bus service from the Cabure-í area to the cities of Andresito, Wanda, Puerto Iguazu, etc.
