    Description

    Hi! I’m a young woman living in a small village in the beautiful Soča Valley in western Slovenia. I live here with my husband and my brother on our small farm, surrounded by nature and animals. We enjoy a simple countryside lifestyle and love meeting people from different cultures and sharing our little corner of the world with them.

    What I love most about living here is the peace and the incredible nature. The Soča Valley is famous for its crystal-clear turquoise river, beautiful mountains, waterfalls, and endless opportunities for hiking, swimming, cycling, and exploring. If you enjoy nature and outdoor adventures, you’ll feel right at home here.

    Our animals are a big part of our lives and each one has its own personality. We have chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, quails, turkeys, cats, and a dog.

    During your stay, you won’t just be looking after our home and animals — you’ll also get a real feel for life in the Soča Valley and our simple countryside lifestyle. Living in a small village means things are peaceful and close to nature, but there are still plenty of ways to connect with the local community.

    While staying here, you’ll learn what everyday life on a small Slovenian farm looks like — how we care for animals, how we organize our routines around nature and seasons, and what it means to live closely connected to the land and animals.

  • Help

    Help

    We are looking for responsible and animal-loving Workawayers to help care for our small farm while we are away for about 3 weeks in April/May 2027

    Before we leave, we would like you to arrive earlier and stay with us for around 2 weeks so we can show you everything in detail, go through the daily routine together, and make sure you feel confident and comfortable taking care of the animals on your own.

    Once we leave, your main responsibility is simple pet-sitting and keeping everything running smoothly. The daily tasks usually take around 2–3 hours in total and include:

    * Opening animal enclosures in the morning
    * Feeding and checking on chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, quails, turkeys, cats, and our dog
    * Basic cleaning and tidying
    * Walking our dog
    * Closing and securing all animals in the evening

    Because this is a high-responsibility pet-sitting role, we are looking for someone reliable, attentive, and comfortable being around animals, especially when working independently.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    You will stay in our big family house and have their own private room. The house is comfortable, clean, and fully equipped, and everything needed for a safe and cozy stay will be provided. We want you to feel at home and have a secure, peaceful place to rest while taking care of the animals.

    During our time away, you will mostly be alone in the house and responsible for the property and animals. Only on weekends, my brother may come by to check in, otherwise you will have full independence and privacy.

    Food is not included, so you will need to buy and prepare your own meals. You are welcome to use the kitchen freely. If you arrive without your own transport, you can also use our car for grocery shopping and basic errands while we are away.

    We ask that the house is kept clean and respected, as this is our home. In return, you will have a lot of trust, privacy, and the chance to experience independent living in a quiet rural setting surrounded by nature.
