Description
We are a horse farm and agricultural holding on Portugal's south coast. Our 7-hectare property includes four vineyards, a pine forest, and over 150 carob trees, as well as orange trees and native shrubs and trees; we also have a vegetable garden for self-sufficiency and a large duck pond. We keep many horses, dogs, cats, and donkeys. We are a young family committed to the goal of living as self-sufficiently as possible in the future. We have our own groundwater source, which we use to irrigate the entire property.
We clarify that volunteers will not be involved in commercial, profit-oriented activities such as the breeding and training of horses. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Here, you can learn how to properly handle and care for horses; we have years of experience in breeding, grooming, and training them. If you would rather put your practical skills to the test, we have plenty of projects, both large and small, that we successfully complete as a team. Many people prefer spending their time in the garden; here, you can learn how to sow, harvest, and tend to fresh, local vegetables, even during the hot summer months. We enjoy cooking as a team, naturally making great use of produce from our garden, and our meals are predominantly vegan or vegetarian.
The small village of Odiáxere is within walking distance, featuring a weekly market, three small grocery stores, and restaurants. The beaches and the beautiful city of Lagos (perfect for sightseeing) are just a ten-minute drive away. Naturally, there are also plenty of opportunities for hiking and cycling, as well as surfing and other water sports.
We speak German, English, and Portuguese, and we love exchanging ideas and learning from one another. English is the primary language here, as people from many different cultures meet and interact at the farm. -
