  • Description

Hi, my Name is Ian* I'm an Irish surfer running the hostel here in Lahinch
we are offering a cultural exchange enabling you to get involved in the unique Irish surf community. chilled out location, right on the beach in a beautiful iconic surf town town. not to far from the cliffs of Moher, surrounded by beautiful hiking trails. :)

In the high season April-Oct the hostel is very busy with loads going on and lots of work to be done.
winter is much more relaxed and usually only busy at the weekends this means there is not as much work to be done, but it can be a bit boring if you don't make a big effort to entertain yourself ...if you surf winter is great to spend lots of time in the water and getting to know the small local community in the village.
apart from helping with cleaning and changing beds I hope that workawayers will help to get guests feel welcome and get them involved in hostel activities like surf lessons, hiking tours ect.

We usually Have 2 volunteers sharing one room with a bunk bed desk, wardrobe and heater.

I have worked here for a few years now but have only recently taken over management
our workaway profile has 950!!! messages in the inbox and new ones everyday...so unfortunately I will only be looking at messages sent from end Nov 2020 and even then I don't have time to answer all the ones I am getting so apologies if I don't write back to you.
Just to help in deciding to whether apply, the ideal Workawayer for the position would be, friendly and out going with a real passion for the outdoors, surfing kite surfing ect... have and can bring your own equipment to use here.I have some access to surf school equipment for people who want to learn but its not available all the time. some experience in hospitality and cleaning would be great! In the past the workaways who have worked best are self motivated and mature people who want to make the most out of their time here.
