We had a great few weeks of company and help whilst hosting Dan and Bec. Both so great with kids, with lots of patience , fun, enthusiasm and energy. The kids loved the outside time playing football after school and the many many rounds of hide and seek!

We recently had the pleasure of Sara staying with us for a 2 week period, it was a lovely experience for the whole family. Sara spent a great deal of time getting to know our two boys and built very positive relationships with them during her stay, they both became very fond of her due to her kind and caring nature. … read more Sara's company, there was a mutual feeling on this. Sara has great fondness for animals, Lola received a great deal of attention and lots of lovely long walks during the stay.
Sara also had great talents in the kitchen, we were treated to some delicious meals and some new recipe ideas, that we will I am sure enjoy in the future as a family. Sara also offered some help around the house with day to day chores, much care was given on tasks that were asked and the house always looked great with the attention to detail that was given.
We will miss Sara's kind and positive energy around our home, it was a really nice few weeks we all had together.

Being part of Emma's family and having the opportunity to bond with Darragh (the eldest) and Cian (the youngest) was an experience I'll never forget.

Every moment of my stay was a moment to connect with my highest self, from the amazing sunrises, to every morning walk with Lola (their adorable puppy) near Spanish Point beach, you'll love it!
Don't forget to bring with you some ideas to make fun games, to create new recipes and to be honest by opening your heart with them.

… read more Lola, a lovely dog. Cien, the youngest kid, is full of energy and playing with him was fantastic. We have created a beautiful relationship and we have done lots of things togheter. Emma treated me like a family's member and she always asked me if I needed something or if all was okay. She is kind, gentle, lovely, with a big heart and she helped me in any ways to plan my free time, to give me lift and to give me advices. I never felt me alone and this was important because for the first time I was for a long period far from home.
All host should be like Emma. She has permitted to me to feel myself at home.

Valentina recently came to stay us for a month whilst on her travels around Ireland, and we feel very lucky for the wonderful time we have had with her during this period. Valentina is a kind, caring, positive and uplifting person, we really enjoyed her company in our home so much. Valentina approached every task with positive energy and was happy
… read more to help in anyway she could, often one step ahead of me in what needed to be done around the house. Some of the help included house work, gardening, dog walking, cooking, house sitting, she has an eye for attention to detail and was a very hard worker when it came to completing all of the these tasks. The biggest and most important task that Valentina helped us with during her stay was spending time caring for with my 2 boys, she was wonderful at this and made a very special bond with our 8 year old, I know he is going to miss her.
Valentina has a great way of always keeping things fun, I feel that there was a lot of laughter in our home since she arrived and we will miss this very much. Overall Valentina gave her best in every situation with her kind, caring and understanding nature, she fitted into our family life so well and really became a great friend to us all.
We highly recommend Valentina to any future workaway hosts, she is a pleasure to have stay and we hope so much that she may return in the future to stay with us again. The only negative for us is that we had to say a very sad goodbye as she set off on her exciting adventures!Feedback

Tobias stayed in our home for 8 weeks during the summer and it was a complete pleasure to have him with us. Tobias made a lasting positive impression on our whole family and we were incredibly sorry to see him leave.

When is came to our children, we could 100% count on Tobias for great patience and understanding, he was very respectful, kind and fair. He always did his best to be available for the kids when they wanted to play, and went above and beyond to make them happy in giving them his time and attention. Tobias had great enthusiasm and energy for the outdoors and was brilliant to get the boys outdoors and engaging in team sports activities in all weathers. We were also lucky to enjoy some good weather and activity time at the beach with Tobias, this included activities such as surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming, lots of fun was had!
During the stay Tobias was responsible for our home and pets whilst we were away on holiday. He was extremely
trustworthy and responsible during this period. He was also great at taking our energetic dog out for many walks and in looking after our other pets. Tobias also helped us with tasks in our garden and vegetable beds and also provided assistance with a variety of household tasks throughout out his stay.
I would without a doubt highly recommend Tobias to any to future workaway hosts, especially when it comes to working with children.
We wish you all the best in the future Tobias and in your final studies to become a teacher, you will be amazing!

I spent almost 2 whole months in August and September 2024 with the family and thus had a great insight into their everyday life, which never gets boring with the 2 boys. Emma and Tony are extremely welcoming and you can communicate anything you might need in advance with them and they really do their best to make your stay as good as possible!
… read more (Whether it is with lifts to the nearest town or any groceries from the supermarket, you can organise and plan everything well with them and Emma is a great cook! ^^).
Tasks:
During my time there, I helped with some chores around the house (vacuuming, weeding, helping with the dishwasher or walking the dog Lola, who is the sweetest and most charming dog ever) but I mostly tried to bond with the children, which can be high-energy sometimes but I loved going outside with them and playing all kinds of games on the trampoline or creating games with the many other toys they have. Overall, the boys are happy to have someone to keep them occupied, but also watch some television or tablet when they just want to be on their own.
Setting:
Just in in case you feel tired you have a big room with a separate bathroom to yourself to have some rest whenever you feel like you need one. The house is a little on the countryside, so you wont see too many people, which is also a great way of clearing your mind and relaxing. If you get bored, however, it is helpful to either walk to the beach at Spanish point (20min walk approx.) or to have some tasks for university/work/hobby you can go after during your time there in the evenings or on days off.
Summary: I loved every minute with Emma, Tony, Darragh and Cian and had a time I will remember for a lifetime. Finally, I have to say one last big THANKS for having me with you and for everything you have done for me. … read more loves and needs a lot of affection. If there was something we didn't want to do, it was no problem for Emma. The location is very remote, and without a car, you depend on Emma and Tony to drive you to the nearest town or bus stop. The nearest supermarket is also quite a distance on foot, but Emma offered us a ride whenever she could. Also, it can get lonely if you're alone since there is little contact with people outside the family. In the afternoons, we had a lot of fun with the kids as long as we stuck to their rules. Occasionally, there were conflicts between the kids, but we could step back, and Emma would handle the situation. Regarding the housework, there was a lot to do on a daily basis like cleaning the kitchen, doing the dishes, doing the laundry and sweeping the floors, as it’s a busy household with two kids, pets, and a large garden. Since you will be alone everyday until the afternoon, you can do everything according to your own wishes so that you feel comfortable. Laura did some house and pet sitting for us during her stay which went really well and I would highly recommend her for this. We felt she was extremely trustworthy and paid great attention to our home and pets whilst we were away.

… read more dog who's very energetic. It was a great experience but I would recommend having some experience in babysitting as Darrah and Cian can be very energetic and sometimes hard to control. Tony and Emma are really friendly and accommodating, especially if you want to visit the area at the weekend. Spanish Point is really amazing, lots of great walks by the ocean and the Cliffs of Moher not far away.
