  • Description

Come here when restrictions lifted. Social distancing friendly.

Come stay over and help us with landscaping, gardening, old home renovations, boat repairs or household chores. We might also have some website/graphic work.
We are 40 year old couple. Seasoned travelers ourselves that love to show off the area. We are quite busy with boring normal lives, but your welcome to use this place as your base from exploring Powell River.

We live in Wildwood, a semi rural part of Powell River, on the sunshine coast of B.C. It’s a part of town known for its orchards, farmers, bear sightings and quirkiness. It’s not uncommon at our house to see someone walking a lama or riding a horse by, at the same time as the city bus flies by. We are fostering a music, art, gardening, home renovation, tiny eco home building world here. We have started growing a garden, built a greenhouse, and learning to care for a small orchard. We like to explore the dreamy backcountry in B.C. that is right at our doorstep. We go boating, fishing, mushroom picking, and attend some hiking, music and art events around town.

We are trying to fix up an old neglected house and outbuildings. Trying to add some sleeping lofts, to build up a bit of art camp gardening backpackers heaven, or at least stop it from degrading and enjoy it.

We are on the city bus route on the northern edge of Powell River where it feels rural but it is in town. It's close the lake and ocean. It is easy to get around in a funky part of town. there is lots going on in the few kms around us like a new climbing gym, brew pub (wildwood public house is 5 blocks away) and brewery.

We have rooms in our house as it is quite large. We like to get up early and go to bed early most nights Monday threw Friday and sometimes stay up later on the weekends or go out.

We do things like go to pottery club once a week and stuff like that. You can walk a few blocks and be on awesome trails and hike to lakes, frisbee golf, or a two kms down the ocean. It’s pretty ideal for the right people. WELCOME !

  • Help

We need help renovating of old house, outbuildings, shop. We could use also help in the little orchard and gardens in this micro sustainable homestead thing. Also working on a boat. We could use people with carpentry or mechanical skills.

We would like hardworking people that can be self starters, good at solving problems, willing to keep track of you hour, and start at a given time each day and leave their smartphone in their room while working. We maybe are willing to provide extra paid hours to skilled or very keen/hardworking people that can work without instructions.
