    Description

Come stay over and help us a few hours per day with landscaping, gardening, old home renovations, boat repairs or cooking. We might also have some website/graphic work
We are 40 year old couple. Seasoned travelers ourselves that love to show off the area. We are quite busy with boring normal lives, but your welcome to use this place as your base from exploring Powell River.

We live in Wildwood, a semi rural part of Powell River, on the sunshine coast of B.C. It’s a part of town known for its orchards, farmers, bear sightings and quirkiness. It’s not uncommon at our house to see someone walking a lama or riding a horse by, at the same time as the city bus flies by. We are fostering a music, art, gardening, home renovation, tiny eco home building world here. We have started growing a garden, built a greenhouse, and learning to care for a small orchard. We like to explore the dreamy backcountry in B.C. that is right at our doorstep. We go boating, fishing, mushroom picking, and attend some hiking, music and art events around town.

We are trying to fix up an old neglected house and outbuildings. Trying to add some sleeping lofts, to build up a bit of art camp gardening backpackers heaven, or at least stop it from degrading and enjoy it.

We are on the city bus route on the northern edge of Powell River where it feels rural but it is in town. It's close the lake and ocean. It is easy to get around in a funky part of town. there is lots going on in the few kms around us like a new climbing gym, brew pub (wildwood public house is 5 blocks away) and brewery.

We want people to maybe come and stay over in our house and help with construction work, landscaping, house finishing, planning like on sketch up, gardening. It’s mostly hard work but we can agree on fair exchange. As the summer roles in we would love to try to get out in our little boats or if fixed th big boat to the awesome beaches on islands around with workawayers on days or to volunteer to pick up any trash we see on beaches. We like to jog up to a small lake some mornings. We are looking for people that can go out and explore on their own, share our space and food and take it easy.

We have rooms in our house as it is quite large. We don’t have unrealistic expectations of the amount of time your should have to work everyday. You should (and will) enjoy yourself. We do things like go to pottery club once a week and stuff like that. You can walk a few blocks and be on awesome trails and hike to lakes, frisbee golf, or a two kms down the ocean. It’s pretty ideal for the right people. WELCOME !
