Description
My name is Tobin. I am a traveler, explorer, sailor and mountain backcountry guide. Overall life enthusiast. I have traveled Europe extensively, the long Canadian highway many times, the British Columbia mountains were my home for years and years and both coasts of North America. Picked up many skills along the way but have learned that following your dreams cannot be done alone. It requires help directly or indirectly. The nice thing is that there are many people out there who share some version of your dream. We can help each other work towards them.
I am currently residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia where I spent my childhood. Concentrating on a sailing adventure with a beautiful 37 foot classic sailboat.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I am a certified carpenter and always have projects on the go, personal or otherwise. One could learn quite a lot in various aspects of building, electric and water works. There is much to be done on the land here as far as landscaping and gardening. You can build a motorcycle if you wish, I can teach you how to sail or you can just chill and enjoy the ocean while I do all the work, hahaha! As for cultural exchange, as the world gets smaller our culture is merging into one, Tradition and geographical location keeps cultural differences alive. Local food and music is a large part of the culture here. Sea life and all that it brings. I can show you all of these things
Help
After a major renovation on the house and demolition of a very old house leaves the land in need of landscaping and gardening and some small building projects. Also a sizable sailboat

Comfortable living in a bedroom with a shared kitchen and private bathroom or camp out on the land in a tent if you like. Fresh coffee or tea in the mornings and a good meal in the evening. Great view of Halifax harbour and a literal stone throw away from the water (with a great throwing arm). Quite a private feel on the land here, small, quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours. 10-15 minute drive to the downtown core with all the shops and a great farmers market on the weekends. There is public transportation or bicycles also.
If you desire to come to this part of the world then staying here is a great option. What else ...
Plenty of activities to do near Halifax, a car helps. Biking, swimming in lakes and ocean, surfing, diving, hiking.
Here we have a small selection of bicycles for you to choose from and a couple vehicles. Also a 37 foot, beautiful sailboat, surfboard, dive gear.
As for what Halifax can offer, it is quite a lively city in the summer with lots going on downtown. Many pubs with great live music of all sorts. Festivals galore of various types. It being the hub city of the Maritimes makes for great cultural diversity who all love to express themselves and keep their traditions alive. Fantastic food. Some nice parks in the downtown area (Public Gardens, Point Pleasant Park).
On the outskirts and around the province there are great hiking rails and camping areas. lots and lots of lakes with waterfalls and picturesque views. Common and hidden surf spots all over (wear a wetsuit). Highlands, lowlands, Old small towns rich with Canadian history and friendly people everywhere.

Guillaumes background as a ropes tech came in handy when I had to ascend the mast. Taught me a new knot which will come in useful and had some good insights on how to rig a safer climbing system.
