Hi Workawayers : PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Thank you for your interest.
We arethe largest wildlife rehabilitation center, all species combined, in the province of Quebec, Canada. We received 2,000 animals in 2024: mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. While we speak French in Quebec, most people speak English too, as second language.
We are new to Workaway. There currently are no reviews about us but there soon will be as we have received a few Workawayers as of May 2025.
It is important you are aware that if you want to volunteer at our center:
- We have accommodation. It’s small but clean.
- We have access to a lot of food for free: vegetables, fruits, meet, cheese and more from the grocery which gives us food they don’t want (but it is still good, very often)
- You will share a little ‘house’ with 4 other persons; the 4 beds are in the same room.
- As part of your help, you will work with animals: cleaning, cooking for animals. And cleaning at the center.
- We can pick you for free, during daytime, at the Quebec Jean-Lesage Airport (YQB) or at the bus station in Sainte-Foy, Quebec. We are 45 minutes away from beautiful Quebec city, Canada. We are located 30 minutes from the Quebec YQB airport.
- You are required to watch 5 to 6 hours of training video before you arrive here. Each video as a questionnaire; it is very simple. We translated most of our videos (still working on that, nearly finish).
- Our values: ethic, professionalism, kindness and humour.
Next step will be an interview on Google Meet.
We are looking forward to receiving you!

I could choose whether I wanted to work with the mammals or the birds. I took care of the mammals. The daily routine is quit the same every day, but other things also pop up, like releasing squirrels or other animals. I was also allowed to rescue a baby bear, but that doesn’t happen very often,… read more
