    Description

Community organization, that supports women who have lived through violence to find a community, heal and transform their adverse situations into lives of hope and inspiration for other women.

We are looking for volunteers who speak at least INTERMEDIATE SPANISH due to the solely Spanish Speaking nature of the connection with the women of our community and the tasks required from volunteers.

We believe that every woman has the potential to move through their pain, suffering and isolation into full lives of community, joy, economic and emotional independence.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will have the chance to meet many of the women who are involved in the association, and they are happy to exchange stories, skills, recipes etc.
Previous volunteers have improved their Spanish, learnt new recipes, experienced Bolivian culture and made firm friendships 👭🫶🏽
It is very important that you come with a self-starting attitude as sometimes there are more chaotic times, and we need you to get involved or suggest ideas for things you would like to do! We cannot always be tending to the wellbeing of our volunteers as we are a small team.

Tasks vary depending on the needs of the association and your skill set, but main tasks include:

📸 PHOTOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA: Taking photos of our activities, including Thursday Sumak Kawsay workshops, catering services, cooking workshops, and putting these photos up on our socials

👩‍🌾 CARE FOR THE HOUSE: Watering the plants and vegetable garden, making sure the main salon is presentable for the activities we host

❤️ All other tasks and help will be coordinated with the team. We encourage a FLEXIBLE and PROACTIVE attitude and welcome different ideas of how you can help us grow!

Previous volunteers have helped us with:
    🌱Gardening and composting
    👩‍🎨 Art and music activities
🥘 Cooking: collaborating with the women to learn new recipes and share your culture!
    🏡 DIY around the house
    👩‍💻 Communications, social media, outreach

You will have a shared room (up to 3 people, depending on how many volunteers are with us) with an en-suite (toilet, sink, shower) in the house of the association.
Full access to the kitchen and the beautiful garden.
The house is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood with everything you’ll need nearby, including shops, restaurants and parks.

As the house is used for the association, you will cross paths with many women during the day. However, the nights are quiet.

Generally we will not provide meals for volunteers.
