    Description

**We're currently looking for a long-term volunteer(s)!! Ideally 3 or more months to start ASAP!!**

Community organization that helps women construct lives free from violence by joining them in community, healing, and transforming their adverse situations into lives of hope and inspiration for other women. With this mission, we focus especially on emotional strengthening and building economic independence.

We are looking for volunteers who speak at least INTERMEDIATE SPANISH due to the solely Spanish Speaking nature of the connection with the women of our community and the tasks required from volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers who are committed to gender equity, human rights, and social work and who can help us with housekeeping tasks and home improvement projects.

We are also looking for a volunteer to supervise the women's children during events and meetings. Ideally with previous experience with/caring for children.

We believe that every woman has the potential to move through their pain, suffering and isolation into full lives of community, joy, economic and emotional independence.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will have the chance to meet many of the women who are involved in the association, and they are happy to exchange stories, skills, recipes etc.
Previous volunteers have improved their Spanish, learnt new recipes, experienced Bolivian culture and made firm friendships 👭🫶🏽
It is very important that you come with a self-starting attitude as sometimes there are more chaotic times, and we need you to get involved or suggest ideas for things you would like to do! We cannot always be tending to the wellbeing of our volunteers as we are a small team.

Tasks vary depending on the needs of the association and your skill set, but main tasks include:

🫂CONNECTION: As a volunteer, you make up part of the Adelante Mujer community. It's important to be talk and spend time with the women of the community, helping them with their businesses, during events, or just hanging out.

📸 PHOTOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA: Taking photos of our activities, including workshops, catering services, cooking workshops, and putting these photos up on our socials. At least every two days, we post on our social media pages so we are able to obtain more catering orders, cooking workshop requests, and so other women of Cochabamba can learn about our community.

👩‍🌾 CARE FOR THE HOUSE: Watering the plants and vegetable garden, cleaning the house and sidewalks, and making sure the main salon is presentable for the activities we host.

❤️ All other tasks and help will be coordinated with the team. We encourage a FLEXIBLE and PROACTIVE attitude and welcome different ideas of how you can help us grow!

Previous volunteers have helped us with:
    🌱Gardening and composting
    👩‍🎨 Art and music activities
🥘 Cooking: collaborating with the women to learn new recipes and share your culture!
    🏡 DIY around the house
    👩‍💻 Communications, social media, outreach

We would love to hear from you!
