**LOOKING FOR A WORKAWAYER FROM 25 FEBRUARY 2027**

Hello from Cat Ba Island! 🦀

I'm Ba, and I live here on Cat Ba with my family. Together, we run a boat tour company and a small restaurant.

I've been lucky to call this island home, and I love showing people around. We take travellers to Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay, and depending on the tour, they can discover places like Monkey Island, Viet Hai Village, floating fishing villages or even glowing plankton at night!

My wife Duong is the cook in our family. She prepares lunch for some of our boat tours, and we often welcome guests back to our restaurant for dinner. She keeps everyone well fed, including me! :)

One of my favourite things about this work is meeting people from everywhere. I like hearing about their countries, their travels and their lives. And of course, I'm always happy to share a little of our Vietnamese life too.

I'm looking for someone friendly, curious and who knows a bit about photography, social media or computers. I'm not so good with all that technology myself, so I'd really appreciate someone who enjoys sharing ideas and teaching me a few things. You don't need to be an expert!

I only host one Workawayer at a time. That way, we have time to get to know each other, and you can really spend time with my family and see how we live here.

You'll have your own room in a hotel just one minute from our restaurant, with three meals a day. And when you're not helping, there's plenty to explore! Cat Ba has beautiful places for hiking, beaches to relax on and lots of travellers to meet.

You can stay for three weeks, but I'd prefer someone who can stay a month or longer. It's always nicer when we have a bit more time together.

If this sounds like a place you'd enjoy, send me a message. I'd love to hear from you!

    See you in Cat Ba,
    Ba

I've lived on Cat Ba for many years, and there's a lot I'd love to show you here!

You'll meet our neighbours, talk with local people and see what everyday life in Vietnam is really like. I can also teach you some Vietnamese if you'd like. Maybe you can help me with my English too! :)

Food is a big part of our daily life. In the morning, we usually eat phở with the people from our street. For lunch, you'll often join me, my wife Duong and our son for some fried rice or another Vietnamese dish. And in the evening, we have dinner together. Duong cooks everything fresh, and if you're interested, we'd be happy to show you how to make a few local dishes.

When you have free time, there's so much to do around Cat Ba and Ha Long Bay. You can go hiking, kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, climbing or just spend the afternoon on the beach doing nothing. I can tell you about some of my favourite places too.

There are also plenty of travellers and other Workawayers around, so you'll have lots of chances to meet people, practise English and share stories and skills.

And about the schedule, I'm quite flexible. You can organise your day in the way that works best for you, as long as we get the things we've agreed on done.

    Help

I'm not very good with computers and social media, so I'd be really happy to welcome someone who knows a bit about these things and can teach me!

    **PHOTOS & SOCIAL MEDIA**
    - Taking photos and short videos on our boat tours, at the restaurant or around Cat Ba
    - Helping me create posts and videos for our social media
    - Showing me a few tricks to make our photos and videos look better

    **WEBSITE & COMPUTERS**
    - Giving me a hand when something goes wrong with my website
    - Helping me improve the photos, texts and tour information
    - Teaching me how to make small changes myself
    - Helping me get more comfortable with online tools

    **A FEW OTHER THINGS**
    - Sharing tips about online reviews and travel platforms
    - Helping me understand and reply to comments and reviews in English
    - Practising English together
    - Exchanging ideas and skills. I'm always happy to learn something new!
    - Sometimes coming along on our tours to take photos, film a little and meet our guests

You really don't need to be an expert. If you enjoy photography, making videos or working with websites, and you're patient enough to teach me a few things, that's already wonderful.

If you've used Canva, CapCut or WordPress before, even better!

We usually plan around 4–5 hours a day, 5 days a week. You'll have two days off, and we can be flexible with the hours.

    - You'll have your own room in a hotel, just one minute from our restaurant.
    - The room has A/C, Wi-Fi, a hot shower and everything you need to be comfortable.
    - You can use our washing machine whenever you need.

    **Food & drinks**
    - My wife Duong cooks three meals a day. We often eat together, so you'll get to try plenty of homemade Vietnamese food!
    - Vegetarian or vegan? No problem, just tell me before you arrive.
    - You can help yourself to drinking water and whatever drinks we have at home.
    - I also make my own rice wine. We call it "happy water" here... You'll understand why if you try it! ;)

    **Meeting people**
    - There are lots of other volunteers staying on Cat Ba, so you won't have trouble meeting people.
    - There's a bar near your hotel where volunteers like to meet in the evenings. You'll even get a small discount there.

I hope you'll feel at home here. We don't want you to feel like a stranger staying with us, but like part of the family!
