Description
Hey, I’m Dan.
This place is in a transition phase right now. I’m reorganizing everything here and preparing to move the bigger vision to Ghana.
So this is not a typical “community project.”
It’s more simple: we work together a few hours a day, get things done, and the rest of the time you enjoy the space, nature, and your own rhythm.
What needs to be done:
* Reorganizing the camp, workshop, and storage
* General clean-up and making things more practical
* Cutting some olive tree branches to open up the view to the Serra da Estrela
* Setting up the pool and filling it with water
* (Optional) helping build a small concrete shed for the solar system
Work time:
* Around 3 hours per day (10:00–13:00)
* About 2 weeks of total work
Outside of that, it’s your time.
Important for me: I also need space and time for myself, so this is not a constant group hangout or full-on social environment. If you’re independent and comfortable doing your own thing, you’ll feel good here.
It’s definitely a plus (almost necessary) if you have your own car, so you can move around freely.
If you’re looking for a relaxed place, some hands-on work, and a bit of real off-grid life without pressure — you’re welcome.
Best greetings,
Dan

My vision is to create a modern off-grid living experience 🌞 where autonomy meets ease. This high-tech off-grid lifestyle means you don’t have to sacrifice the comforts you’re accustomed to—like Starlink internet 📡 with up to 10 mb/s, warm showers 🚿, and modern sanitation 🚽.
My place is built on passion 💛, not obligation. I am not wealthy 💸, but I am deeply committed to providing good food 🍛 and welcoming volunteers 🙏. Your time here matters. I understand that many dedicate their valuable vacation days to Workaway, so I do my best to make the experience enriching and rewarding ✨.
I live and work on the property with intention and dedication 🛠️. While I go by Portugal Time 🇵🇹, I stay focused and engaged. If you have a special skill or want to learn something new, there’s space for both. Some tasks are assigned, but if you stay longer and bring your own ideas or talents, you’re welcome to shape your own contribution 💡

What else ...
🌿 My 3,500m² property is a sanctuary 🕊️ where you can unwind and let the soothing sounds of nature 🎶🌳 lull you into a state of tranquility.
🛒 For your daily needs, a mini-supermarket is just a leisurely 5-minute bike ride 🚴♀️ away or 10 Minutes walk.
🛍️ For a more extensive shopping experience, the Intermarché is a 30-minute ride (or a quick 10-minute drive 🚗).
🏙️ The bustling city of Castelo Branco, with its rich history 📜 and vibrant culture 🎭, is an hour away by bike or a swift 20-minute drive 🚙.
🌱 This is a place of learning and growth 📚—an ideal setting to immerse yourself in the principles of off-grid living 🔋 and permaculture 🌻. Here, you can not only learn about sustainable living ♻️ but also experience it firsthand—feeling the earth beneath your feet 🦶 and the wind in your hair 🌬️ as you contribute to a lifestyle that respects and cherishes our planet 🌍.
🤝 Looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
Warm regards,
Dan ☀️

In Camp I had the opportunity to learn new skills without the fear of doing mistakes or to be imperfect and this was really important for me to push myself out of my comfort zone and learn a lot.
