General Maintenance
Culturally, music is a large part of our lives, as is visiting music events at neighbouring islands. We're keen to have volunteers who bring musical ability, or even just a willingness to play along. [This is not a requirement. It's just on our wishlist.]
On the learning end, certainly we are most predisposed to taking on folks with sailing experience and/or ability with things like engine maintenance. Again, this is not a requirement, and if you're looking to learn about either of those things, we might be an excellent match.
We used to live aboard our sailboat, but now the boat needs maintenance. The boat is a Columbia 43, and she wants to be ready for short voyages (especially on weekends) in British Columbia's Gulf Islands, based out of Montague Harbour, Galiano Island.

Accommodation in this case is going to be onboard the boat itself. Your bedroom will be the V-Berth of our vessel, which affords a modest amount of privacy. The boat itself has a functional "head" (bathroom). We currently do not have have running water, so we make due by bringing water onboard, and heating it using vessel systems as required. These accommodations are not for everyone, but we hope that this description helps you decide if this is something you'd like to try. Another aspect to be aware of is that internet access can sometimes be flaky on the boat itself, but that there are businesses nearby that provide access. The boat itself is not really a good place to hunker down watching videos that you haven't downloaded ahead of time.
To see what you might be able to get up to while you're hear, please Google for things like "Galiano Island, BC" and see if you can find information about what sailing would be like in our area. You'll also find a lot of information about what our little island community is like.
