    Description

Open minded flower child trying to live in the countryside. My profession is designer, but I can not stand the rush, noise, stress in the city, so I have changed my lifestyle in something beautiful here on peaceful land surrounded by nature to create my own world. I love to dig my hands in the ground and eat what mother earth provides. I love to breathe fresh air and to connect with nature. I am inviting anyone who loves nature, gardening, self-sustainable living, eco-building, arts, music, hippie lifestyle, self-expression, creativity, traveling, healthy lifestyle or just happiness to join me.

I live with my fiance in an old farm. We have very simple (and old) home that we want to rebuild one day. So do not expect something much or luxury.
I am a hands-on creator, whose love language is service to others. So I have found my lifes passion- hospitality. I am building (literary) my dream world in the mother natures corner. It is a quiet campsite Kleja for soul travelers. I have 3 yurts and a spa area and can host 6 persons.
I am interested in esotericism and self develpoment. I love to take care of people through latvian sauna traditions and sound meditation. If you love the books "The power of now" or "the secret" we might have a lot to share about.

My fiance, Edgars, is a programmer. He is mostly spending his time at home, working. I hope he would work less, enjoy more, but it is his life. So he will not be much involved. It will be me and you. But we can build a world together! ♡

We do not have farm animals (we have our mice control- a cat) and I do not eat animal products. But I can cook the most delicious and nutritient full plant-based (vegan) meals even for skeptics.

We live very close to one of the most beautiful Nature Parks in Latvia and we could have a tour there. Or, if I don't have time, we can organize you a day on your own to explore those beautiful trails. You will have a bicycle for your use and the bus stop is not that far.

On the property also lives a friend of mine, whos passion is viking and pagan culture. He is a beer brewer. He is calm and settled guy and helps me a lot here. He also is growing the hottest chillies in the world and makes hot souces, that you will have to try.

You can learn through doing about eco-friendly gardening, building. I can teach or exchange some delicious vegan recipes. When it is right season, we are going to forest to pick berries and mushrooms- I can teach you about edible plants for eating and medicine. You can get to know and practice our paganic traditions, culture. I can tell you a lot about our early history and hopefully show how different our culture is from other Europe. If I have time, I can bring you on a hike, drive around region. Big part of my life is outdoors- so bushcraft, camping and being in the nature is all part of it.

    Help

I would appreciate help around the house and garden and preparing for our diy wedding that will happen this July. :)

As I have some health problems and can not do such heavy jobs anymore (hopefully just for a while), I would need help with pretty much everything I do around here. But I am a great teacher if you wish to learn working with powertools. Here will be a list of the tasks you could be asked to do:
    - build a tiny house for volunteers or yourself (I am working on this already so lets see how fast I am)
    - mow the lawn a lot in June
    - cut fallen tree with chainsaw
    - clear out bushes with trimmer
    - help to make whipping brooms for sauna rituals
    - clear the area (there are some old greenhouses that needs to be taken down and all kind of old stuff around)
    - clean out the barn
    - gardening (build raised beds, dig ground, plant and seed, pick weeds, water plants etc.)
    - sometimes cooking
    - foraging at season
    - help with the wedding (I wish to make tents, a big yurt, more decorations, maybe some furniture etc.)
    - if someone is ready to be part of the wedding (13th of July) we would appreciate help with cooking, setting everything up, being little helpers during the wedding to check if everything is going well. It will be small and only our closest friends, so no stress
    - some other tasks that I can not think of now

Of course, you need to take care of the place, where you will be staying. I do not care if you clean daily, but you will need to leave the place as you received it.

    Accommodation

At the moment I am working on building our guest tiny house for volunteers. In April or until the tiny house is finished you can stay in the campsite yurt next to the forest. If the tiny house will not be finished by May, I might be able to only host in tent or my parents unfinished house. But I am pretty optimistic about the tiny home. :)

The yurt is heated by fire and it will be on your own to heat it and take care of your comfort. It might get chilly in the morning when you wake up, if the stove is burnt out and cold (you can wake up during the night to check the stove, there will be long-lasting briquettes that burn up to 8 hours, but if you are a long sleeper, it still could be cold in the morning). The blankets are very warm and I have slept there even in freezing temperatures, and they kept me warm.
There is no running water. You will have a drinking water and a water to wash your hands. You can take a shower in our home (that is located 700m from the yurt, but as we are going to have a lunch together, you will be visiting us daily anyways). Once per week we will fill the bath for you to enjoy under the sky. It is heated by bonfire under. So you can relax undisturbed and enjoy your solitude. Electricity is limited from battery and you will need to bring it for charging time to time. It is only for small electronics.
You can boil water on the indoor stove or camping stove. Your breakfast will be an oath porridge that you can prepare with hot water. Coffee and tea is always available in the yurt. So you will need to take care of your breakfast. It will be easier if we do not have to adjust our morning rituals and wake up schedules. So we will meet later when everyone is awake, ready to start the day.
The lunch will be in our home and you will have ready-to-go dinner to enjoy in the yurt. Sometimes we might have a dinner together if the weather is nice, we want to make a bonfire and everyone feels like having an evening together.
We have mosquitos (typical for this country) and bugs- they come also inside the yurt. There are a lot of wild animals. If you are lucky- you will see deers, foxes, rabbits, badger, snakes and cats, goats from neighbours home. If you are traveling with a pet- welcome!
Bed linen, towels, shampoo and soap is provided.

We will have spa days when I don't have paying customers there.

About our home. The farm is very old and nobody has lived here since 70s. So do not expect much- we have made it prettier from inside but could not call it "renovation" by what you could expect. We do not have a running water from tap- there is a well. We do not have flushing toilet- it is composting and outside. We have made a shower but it is also not fancy. But it works, has hot water. :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your free time you can hang around here- slack-line, play music, make art, try our trail in the swamp to magical oasis lake where a lot of birds gather in spring. Walk or bike to the nearest village (they only have 1 shop and cafe). We have a few bicycles that you can borrow. With bicycle or bus you can go on a day trip to closest town Sigulda (it is very famos from all tourism brouchures), it is also located in National Park, where you can see the biggest cave in Latvia and have some great hikes with lot of sightseeing, see one of the oldest medieval castles. There is also short hike quite close with picturesque views. Sea side with very popular beach town is 25 km away from here. We can go there by car or if you are in good physical shape you can go there by bicycle (the road is flat and straight). When there are some interesting events in this region, we can drive there by car.

And we have decided to have age limit. Sorry! (: So you have to be at least 25 years old (because we are not so young anymore) and it just feels like we could have less in common with people who have just finished highschool. But if you can convince us with your previous experience or story of life or mindset, you are still welcome to send us a request (we have had good and bad experience with young people).

It can be any type of pet as long as you can take care of it and make sure it doesn't do any damage (if this happends, you will need to fix it or pay for it). And you need to clean up after your pet - the poops that are in disturbing places and clean the fur.
