Description
Hello, I'm Jax and I manage a beautiful stone hamlet perched on a hilltop in the Luberon.
It's a special place, a private village where groups come to stay: families, friends, retreats, cycling groups, weddings and more. During the summer months we need help with this task. This is from April until October ( 7 months)
The work is primarily helping with housekeeping and assisting in the kitchen when guests are staying so previous experience in hospitality and housekeeping is a definite advantage. There is quite a bit of cleaning to do as we have 15 bedrooms for guests in a series of small houses and apartments You must be able to speak both French and English
The hours vary week by week and depend on the type of guests we have here. We will guarantee a minimum number of hours. You must be able to invoice for your hours spent as a freelance /slef employed person and are responsible for paying your own taxes.
You must be able and happy to drive with a few years experience as the role includes helping with shopping and sometimes picking people up from the airport or buses. For your own needs its important that you have your own car to use your days off pleasurablyTypes of help and learning opportunities
DIY and building projects
Creating/ Cooking family meals
Help around the house
General Maintenance

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The onsite team are happy to share their knowledge with you. There is plenty of opportunity to practice your culinary skills with our cooks and you would be responsible for preparing breakfast and helping with lunch and dinner for the guests when needed

HELPER POSITIONS
We are looking for an extra 2 pairs of hands to help the on-site manager with housekeeping, gardening, harvesting the orchard, odd-jobs, errands & food preparation/serving/clearing.
These are paid positions (14€ph),with on-site accommodation.
Driving and own car is essential
No experience necessary as training will be given.
Preference is given to those willing to commit to the whole 7 months
Work will normally be up to 6 hours per day, with breaks and at least 1 day off per week
As this is a paid position, you are responsible for your own food and you have your own kitchen to prepare your meals.
However, when guests are here there is often delicious food left over when we clear the meals which you can share with team here.

What else ...
There will be some days where there will be little, or no work at all, so time is your own to wander & wonder, explore the local area (Luberon in Provence), its pretty stone hilltop villages/towns, markets, brocantes, paysan life, farms, lavender, cycling, hiking etc. There's a library and a pool available to use when the guests are not here. It is a very rural location so you will need transport to reach the shops/markets and other interesting places
You must be happy to amuse yourself as we are quite remoteA little more information
